Our wonderful Minnesota friends left this morning after a grand week of house repairs and sightseeing. The house feels so quiet and sad so time to stamp! Mojo Monday sketch arrived in my mailbox today so I went down to the stamp room and made a card.
This is how I attack a sketch.
I look at the main element shape and choose something close, like the Metallic foil doilies as the circle. Then the next largest element, which is the rectangle. I chose to use the Winter Wonderland Vellum stack and pulled out the gold pine cone sheet.
White card stock helps the vellum pop. Then I needed a darker color for the layer, like Blackberry Bliss. The sketch is supposed to be Tall and Skinny, but the scale wasn’t right for the doily so i make it a regular 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card.
I embossed the greeting in gold and cut with a 2-1/4″ circle framelit. The Blackberry Bliss card stock layer is 4″ x 5-1/4″. The Vellum and white card stock rectangle is 2-1/4″ x 3-3/4″, with right side corners rounded. Ribbon is 5″.
