De-Stress with some color therapy

The coloring book movement is still going strong for therapy and calming the mind.  I read an article recently on CNN about why coloring is good for you!  (you can read that article here if you like)

I personally have moods where I want to sit down and just color something!  When I was young I would lie on the floor with my crayons and get lost for hours.  These days I’m lucky to color one or two cards but I still enjoy it!

You may have overlooked this kit in the Stampin’ Up Occasions catalog but if you want to spend some time in ‘therapy’ that doesn’t cost $3oo an hour, try this instead!

Lots Of Happy Card Kit – All inclusive kit for $35

This kit makes 2o cards with cute, striped envelopes.  There is a 7 piece stamp set, a clear block for mounting the stamps, a small ink spot, 4 watercolor pencils, ribbon and all the cut pieces that are ready to color.  All you stamp are the greetings.

Let me show you how they look up close.  This one is a full sized card and I love the bold stripes with the vellum leaves that come in the kit, too.

In the video from Stampin’ Up, they used the watercolor pencils without an water so they have a soft, pretty look.  (see above right photo)

To make the coloring go a little quicker, I used a Blender Pen to pick up the color from my watercolor pencil and transfer the color that way.

I didn’t think the vellum leaves were needed but when you see the card in person, it’s a delicate addition that is sweet. The one below is a full sized card.

The next two cards below are too little to mail on their own but I’ve used them with a gift bag and I also mailed one inside a larger envelope! If you really wanted to make it bigger, you could mount directly to a regular sized card base.

The left one is about 2-3/4 4-3/4 and the right card is about 2″ x 3-1/2″.

This one is about 4-1/4″ square.

Here is the photopolymer stamp set that comes with the kit:

What is really nice is that Stampin’ Up has refill kits!  If you love it and want to make more, you can get just the refill for only $21 without the stamps and ink and pencils.

here is the video from the home office:

Want one?  Drop me an email or order online in my store. The links are below and so are the blender pens if you don’t have those yet!

Go color something!

Springtime Foils Panda

Well yesterday I used the new Springtime Foils paper with the peacock (see post here) and today I used the stripes design.  This paper is just too fun!

You can see the 2nd release of FREE Sale a bration items here! These will be available beginning February 16th, including the new 12×12 Springtime Foils paper!

I thought I needed some happy colors to go along with that cute pandas so I used my Stampin’ Up markers to color in the stripes:

I used Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride.  After I colored all the lines, I took a paper towel and wiped away the excess that might be sitting on the silver foil lines.

I added the free with $100 purchase Sale a Bration dies called Celebrate You in black and calypso coral card stock.  The panda is from Party Pandas, free with a $50 purchase until the end of March.

I fussy cut the balloon and string away from his paw and added a punched balloon in silver foil.

The Fast Fuse 5-Day Sale Is Coming February 8-12

You may remember our Fast Fuse promotion last fall was phenomenal and sold out quickly! SU is bringing back the Fast Fuse Adhesive deal for five days only—while supplies last! For those of you who are unfamiliar with this promotion, here’s how it works: When you buy ONE Fast Fuse Adhesive, you’ll get TWO Fast Fuse Adhesive refills for FREE!

Fast Fuse is a super strong, double sided tape that secures heavy layers of card stock, even when it’s textured or embossed. Because it holds so well, you use less of it.  Some people have had trouble with it but there is a trick to using it.  Watch this video and it’s spot on!  I use Fast Fuse ALL the time and love it.

This deal will start on February 8 and end on February 12. Remember, that’s five days only—while supplies last!  Sale a Bration is still in full swing so you can also get a freebie with every $50 order and a little goodie from me, too:)

Faux Black Stainless Steel using new Springtime Foils Paper

Matt and I were out shopping for a new refrigerator and were drawn to a Black Stainless Steel finish, which has a cool matte, metallic finish. We may still settle for regular stainless and couldn’t decide BUT when we came home, my Stampin’ Up box had arrived with my pre-order for the new Sale a Bration freebies!

I immediately started to brayer, sponge and color this paper because it was so pretty!   I used Memento Black and a paper towel for some resisting:

The paper is called Springtime Foils, it’s GORGEOUS and will be available on Feb 16th as part of the 2nd release for Sale A Bration.   (there are 4 new products and this paper is free with a $50 order) It’s 12×12 and 3 sheets of each design.  I’ll be able to post the brochure PDF and item numbers when they are available to order Feb 16th.

If you want to see a sneak peek of the new Sale a Bration freebies available Feb 16th and how I altered the paper,  watch my video below!

so you can see where I got my inspiration….I still had that black stainless on my mind!

I looked around for something that would compliment my new black steel paper and saw the peacock, which is also a Sale-a-Bation freebie.   Now before you get after me for a black and gray peacock instead of a colorful one, they do exist!   (I know Cindy Brumbaugh will want proof so here it is:)

He sure is pretty!

The gold foil paper really pics up the bits of gold in the paper.

Here is a video from Shannon West at the Stampin’ Up home office showing the new Basket Bundle set that is free with a $100 order:

(The basket weave embossing folder will also be available in the upcoming Annual catalog in June but until the end of March, you can get it free along with the stamp set with a $100 order!)

By the way, if you reserved a Stamparatus with me, those will be ready to finalize soon!  You can earn the new Sale a Bration freebies with that, also!

Orders over 250.00 earn an EXTRA $25 free on top of SAB freebies and host rewards

If you decide to sign up as a demonstrator (hobby discount shopper or business, all are welcome!) you get TWO extra stamp sets in your starter kit, any price!  And SU gives you free shipping on it all!

Off to watch the BIG game today!  I hope you all find time to enjoy the day and find some time to stamp, too!

Love the Critters…

I do love my critters….when I saw this cute set from Stampin’ Up I had to get it!

It’s called We Must Celebrate and it’s a clear mount, rubber stamp set and has no dies so that means some fussy cutting if you want to separate them like I did.   They are perfect for the office birthday card with the ‘from all of us’ sentiment!

Item # 145898  $20

Here is a sample from the SU home office:

The bear is juggling the acorns…..love:)

I couldn’t leave out the squirrel, so I added him to the inside:

Remember it’s still SALE-A-BRATION time with a free gift for every $50! You can see my post here to read about it.  There are more free SAB items coming on Feb 16th!

The Stampin’ Up Starter kit is always better during Sale a bration, too.  If you want a discount on your SU supplies, think about it during SAB.  You choose $125 of  SU product, get free shipping and pay only $99 + your county tax.  AND they throw in 2 FREE stamp sets of your choice….any price! Email or call me to chat about that.

Chickadees and berries

Hi All!   I made this chickadee card back in December and thought I had posted it but I didn’t!  I was trying some new scheduling of posts only to find out I goofed it up.

Luckily the chickadees are still here in NC and so are some of the berries that inspired this card.   We only had one weekend of snow here in western North Carolina but these cuties are still on my feeders!

I used my Cherry Stampin’ Blends markers to color my pearls for the berries.

I also added just a touch of smoky slate and crumb cake with a blender pen since chickadees are rarely pure white.   I used the Petal Palette bundle from the Stampin’ Up Occasions catalog.  It’s a pricey bundle at $62 for the clear mount.  It’s a 2 box set of stamps and the framelit dies so it’s a lot of product in one bundle.  The stamps are etched so it creates a beautiful watercolor look.

I hope you are finding time to stamp today!
