Get Blooming Early!

Before I dive into the new promotion this month, I know many of you may be dealing with loss of income or worry for this current state of our lives with the virus.  It’s a scary time  and everyone reacts differently to crisis situations.  Some of you are hunkering down and watching TV, some are stamping like crazy!  Some are cooking, some are organizing, some are just trying to keep kids occupied!  My friend Patsy and I were chatting yesterday about feeling odd about posting promotional stuff with all that is happening.
After chatting, we decided it’s better to just go on with sharing business as usual
since some want new stamps and to create at home!  So on we go…..

Hi all!  It’s April 1st and the start of a new suite that is available early!  Stampin’ Up’s Annual catalog is around the corner in June and this suite is an early release starting today.    Demos like me have had it for a month  and there’s a whole bunch of bloomin’ goodness in it!

You can view/print the 3 page flyer HERE

Here’s a quick video from the home office so you can see it a bit closer:

Let’s break down the products in the suite!
First there is a one button, buy it all item number.  You know when you go into a store and want the whole mannequin? or you just say I want the #4 at the drive-thru because it’s easy?  That’s what some like!  (actually I wish macy’s had a mannequin package, I’d just say ‘all that’ and be done shopping:)

#154153  $136.75
The suite includes 2 bundles (stamps/dies),
embossing folder, ribbons, designer paper and gems!

**If you end of ordering the whole suite from me, I’ll send you a pack of whisper White envelopes and a pack of cardstock, your choice of Terracotta Tile or Old Olive (those will coordinate the best with the designer paper!)

For those that like a-la-carte:

This bundle can be broken down into 2 parts also
but you do save 10% on them both when you buy them separately.
The Ornate Style (rubber) stamps #152572 $21 and the dies (shown below) are $37 if purchased a-la-carte.

Look at these dies!  If you are on Stamping School,
I have used it 2x already for project videos.  Really fun to work with!
The upper right and lower left are open dies without borders.

Here’s another bundle of photopolymer stamps/dies!
The stamp set is fun to mix up sentiments to create a very thankful card.  I stamped all the sentiments, trimmed them out and
then just moved them around to see what I could come up with:

(sorry for the rough photo)
You can see the whole set below, I like the mix of fonts!

Here’s a closer look at the dies

Accessories!  A 3D embossing folder, a 2 roll ribbon pack in Terracotta and Old Olive and gold faceted gilded sticky gems.

The floral designer paper has some shiny gold images as well as lots of daisies!
It’s an interesting palette because it can go spring or fall.
#152488  $15  12×12 sheets, 12 sheets/pack

See how the pretty floral paper can be multi-seasonal?

And a few more samples:

I like how color is added on just a few of the flowers on the designer paper.

This one is an example of the open dies, just cut 2x on Terracotta Tile cardstock as a
decorative layer.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update for SU

(we manufacture our own stamps and many other accessories however items like metal dies are made out of the country.  Hopefully one day there will be US manufacturing large enough for those items)

Stampin’ Up posted this a few days ago:

Like many of you, we are continuing to follow the Coronavirus (COVID-19) coverage. We are monitoring news of the situation as it unfolds and we’re working to account for its possible impact to several business aspects that will affect demonstrators (manufacturing, transportation, travel, events, etc.). The health and safety of demonstrators and staff is important to us and we appreciate your partnership and patience as we work to address this global issue.

We are doing all we can to mitigate the impact, including air freighting products when possible. Each week we will update the list below with the products that we know will be (or already are) affected by these delays:

  • 149615: Subtles 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) Designer Series Paper
  • 151474: Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder
  • 151566: Bonanza Dies
  • 151154: From My Heart Faceted Gems
  • 151193: Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • 151310: Assorted Pompoms
  • 151512: Garden Gateway Dies
  • 151526: Detailed Bee Dies
  • 151594: Poppy Moments Dies
  • 151605: Painted Labels Dies
  • 151296: Label Me Lovely Punch
  • 151297: Label Me Fancy Punch
  • 146956: Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder
  • 151304: Three Cheers for You Card Kit (EN)
  • 151690: Stitched So Sweetly Dies
  • 151326: Whisper White 1/4″ (6.4 mm) Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon

Product Production

We are happy to share that all the factories we use in China are up and running!  Some are at 100% capacity and others are still moving in that direction. The COVID-19 outbreak has caused more delays than usual in our ability to replenish products. However, it is very good news that all factories are working again as they are also producing new products for our upcoming annual catalog.

Our manufacturing facility in North America continues to work overtime and operate on two shifts. However, we have separated the shifts by an hour in an effort to reduce COVID-19 exposure risk, which has caused a small decrease in production. We are working hard to minimize backorders of stamps, Classic Stampin’ Ink, and cardstock, but there may be some intermittent backorders on these products in the coming weeks.

Shipping

To lower the COVID-19 exposure risk, we split our order fulfillment operation from one shift into two shifts. Each group works 12-hour days with one coming in on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and the other reporting in on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. (With this change in schedule, you may receive an order confirmation on Saturday, however, be aware that orders fulfilled on Saturday will not be picked up and processed until Monday.)

We are doing the best we can to get orders out, but as of the end of last week, we were picking orders two to three days after the order was placed. These delays are likely to increase the longer we work the split shifts, and, as we come upon the end of Sale-A-Bration, they could increase more significantly than we have seen in the past. We usually work overtime to get orders out this time of year, but with the current situation, we will be unable to work those extra hours.

We will continue to update you on the situation. Please be patient with us as we work to balance the health of our employees with the needs of our demonstrators and customers.

UPS

In order to minimize risks for employees, customers, and communities, UPS is no longer requiring a customer signature for deliveries (until further notice). For more information about how UPS continues to respond to this situation, click here.

Stay well, Stay in and Keep Stamping!

I hope you all are well and staying healthy during this crazy time!
Matt and I are both well and added a puppy to our life. He came with the name Domino, 3-1/2 months and is a border collie/basset mix. Those short little legs won me over!
Super sweet and came from a wonderful rescue in GA called Dirt Road Doggies. He was found with 3 siblings in an abandoned house then went to live on a farm with other dogs so he’s very socialized but had never been in a house before! So far potty training has been easy but it’s only been 2 days:) It’s been 10 years since we had a dog so we are in training, too:) Anyway, it’s a good way to be quarantined since we should be staying home!

Hi all!

I hope you are healthy and staying in without getting cabin fever.
I hear some of you are still working, some have been cleaning out closets and lots are crafting!  I’ve healed well from my surgery and on my way back to normal thankfully.

I thought since I have a little more time this week, I’d do a round of paper shares.
I missed doing one in January with my month long hospital vacation, so why not now?
For those that missed it and want to have a piece
of all the new seasonal papers, here it is:

48 6×6 sheets featuring the following papers:

Paper Shares 48 Sheets $17 (free shipping)
DOUBLE shares are available upon request, 6×12 sized when applicable,
are available upon request for the paper shares. $30
I put them all in a nice acetate box and a little extra gift inside, too.

I’ll create a share for every 8 people, I’ll order and then divide it all up!

Email me to join my shares  Linda@stampingschool.com
by March 23rd and I can get them back to you by march 31st.
Let me know in email if you want a regular share or the 6×12 size.

We are only a week away from the 3rd release of freebies for Sale a Bration!  More will be released on March 24th, so I’ll be back then to let you know what they will be.  Typically they are accessories or items from the annual catalog but we’ll see!

What a difference a card makes….

I kept all the cards sent to me during my long hospital stay and the recovering months since.  I revisit them, reading the well wishes and thoughts that encouraged me.  In the hospital I wasn’t always up to opening them but once I was home, what a difference each one made.  Many of you I haven’t met in person but your paper hugs across the miles were much needed!

Here are a few more I received recently and hopefully some inspiration for you to make your own cards to send to someone who needs it!

This sunny card was created by Janet Munden using the Painted Poppies set.  I love she didn’t use the usual red or poppy color and chose a happy yellow.

This cutie was created by Debbi Muche, who used the host set, Little Ladybug.  I really like the background paper using the Lily Impressions designer paper (freebie during Sale-a-Bration)  The inside is just as cute:

These next two cards were from Debbie Hileman.
I love the simplicity of both and the little touches of metallic.

I like the way she used the poppy stamp with blackberry card stock.

I love the mix of greens in this card using the Timeless Tropical bundle.

Thank you for stopping by!  I appreciate all your warm comments and encouragement!

Best Dressed: Reverse Die Cutting Video

While I’m still on the mend, I’m sharing projects from my presentation in November for the Best Dressed Suite, which is the new Stampin’ Up seasonal catalog.

Reverse die cutting (or it also works with punched images!) is something I happened up a few years ago playing with the Stamparatus.  Maybe someone else has figured it out also but it really is a handy trick, especially when the die only goes in one direction.
I really wanted one shoe to sit on the shoe box in one direction and one on the floor.
(you know when you just have a vision and have to figure it out, right)

Most of us are familiar with reverse or mirror image stamping using the silicone pad.
This just takes it a bit further for no fussy cutting of the reverse image.
Here is a quick video I did back in November to show it rather than try to type it:

I hope you give it a try!
If you are a member of Stamping School, be sure to re-watch the video called
Happy Tails: Mirror Image Punching, December 2018, to see how it works with punches.
