Direct to Paper Pillow Box

Matt and I are heading to Alaska tomorrow on the Stampin’ Up Incentive Trip cruise!  This is our 12th trip with SU and continually thankful for my team and faithful customers who helped me earn it each year.  I’ll be posting on my Stamping School Facebook page if I see good ‘stampy’ things I can post:)  We will have a general session one day to see some sneak peeks of the upcoming Holiday catalog, so that will be exciting!

Before I go, I thought I’d share a quick project:

I love that Stampin’ Up is carrying these cute, premade pillow boxes this year in the annual catalog!  I think the Crumb Cake and white dots are versatile but I want more colors:)

Sponging takes a LONG time to get the coverage you need. I chose the Direct to Paper application, where I press the ink pad directly to the pillow box.  In this case, the new Merry Merlot is a perfect color to go with the Waterfront stamp set theme I needed.  Grap a paper towel or napkin before you begin.

(By the way, if you are on my Stamping School,
I showed 2 other videos with a reptile twist! )

It will be dark at first – once you wipe off the excess, it will be perfect!

Rub off the excess ink.  Switch ends and use the paper towel to
hold the inked side of the box down:

Repeat and rub the other side.  It will dry lighter!  Ink lightens when it dries, paint darkens.  Not sure why!

Darling Label + Broadway Bound = Snazzy Birthday Card

Have you seen this punch box bundle in the Stampin’ Up annual catalog?
It’s on page 44 and has 6 photopolymer stamps that coordinate with the Darling Label punch.  It comes in a big 8″x 8″ tin with 2 ink spots and an acrylic block to mount the stamps on.  The stamps are versatile with Birthday, Hello, Thanks, Thinking of You, Best Wishes and Congratulations.

At first glance I thought it was pricey at $45 but then I added up the stamps, block and punch and you pretty much get the tin for around $2 and it’s a nice tin!   Great for storing cards and supplies or anything you want.

I made this card using the stamps from the set but opted to use circles and the Tailored Tag punch instead of the punch in the bundle.   I make a bright and colorful card for Stamping School videos a few weeks back using the same layout. (remember customers and team get free access to my video library of over 1000 videos!)

This one is all shiny gold foil, black and white using the Broadway Bound designer series paper!

This paper is gorgeous!
Shiny shiny gold foil designs on one side and bright birthday on the back side!

I really love how it turned out!
Below are just a few other samples from the home office:

Before I go, don’t forget about the AMAZING sign up promo for

Mini Shopping Bag Gift Card Holder Tutorial

I’ve been going through some of my really old, pre-HD videos on Stamping School.  Time to send them to the recycle bin but also to do an updated version with new papers.  This is one I did back in 2008 called a Mini Shopping Bag Gift Card Holder.

The light outside today here in NC was so much better than inside!  I should have made the whole thing and photographed from my porch:)

I needed a little gift card holder for a new baby and I also got to use my new
Twinkle Builder Punch from Stampin’ Up!   I would highly recommend adding this one to your punch collection, even for the assortment of little stars that are useful for so many occasions.

I started with our new Twinkle Twinkle designer series paper and cut it to
4-1/4″ x 7-1/2″.  I also cut a coordinating piece 1/2″ x 7-1/2″.

After adhering that striped piece, score in landscape position at
2-1/2″, 3″, 3-1/2″, 6″, 6-1/2″ and 7″.

Turn to portrait position and score at 1″ to create the bottom of the bag.

Now it’s a few mountain, valley, mountain folds to create the shopping bag effect!

Before you get too far and glue it together, slide that punch in
from the top to punch the front of the bag.

Cut those bottom Flaps so you can glue to close.

We have these cute little adhesive stars in the new catalog.  Perfect to add on for some extra sparkle on the front and the tissue paper. I used glue dots to attach a few pieces of ribbon for the handle.  I also added some of the navy paper behind the punched moon and stars so it showed up better.
I really like how it came out!  Supplies are at the bottom of the email if you are interested in ordering those sometime!

Oh, before I forget!  We have TWO new promotions in July!

One is a pretty big one….a whole set of new ink pads, your choice of color group, when you sign up as new or returning demonstrator in July!
So you can choose the Brights, Regals, Subtles or Neutrals or In colors – 10 pads in each group!

The Starter kit is the same price and same perks –  You choose $125 worth of Stampin’ Up products and pay only $99 plus your tax and still FREE shipping on it all.  Then during July, you can choose one of the color groups of ink pads Free!   If you want to place your own orders (I’ll show you how) and get a discount of around 20% or more, then give it some thought. I’d love to have you on my team!

The 2nd special is a returning favorite – Buy 3 packs of Designer Paper and get One free!  Here are the 10 papers included in the sale but I’ll post the official sale flyer on July 1st.  Since I know some of you will ask, my recommendations are the 6×6 Tropical Escape or Garden Impressions,  Twinkle Twinkle, Under the Mistletoe (yes, early for christmas BUT I love the plaids in it) and it’s a toss up for the cuteness of the Animal Expedition or the serene Nature’s Poem.  If you don’t have the wood texture paper from last year, it’s a must-have!

Round 2 is beginning today for my paper shares!  It’s a great way to get a sample of all the papers and some accessories without having to buy it all.

106 sheets, 6×6 size for  $35  (free shipping)

Accented Blooms Shaker Card

I love a shaker card!
The first thing I saw with this new stamp set, Accented Blooms, was a window.
I was initially going to just make a recessed greeting but it turned into
sparkly shaker window instead.

BTW, when you mount this stamp set and punch out the middle piece, SAVE it!
You can use it like a shadow stamp!

I started with a 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ Thick Whisper White card stock and added color with my Stampin’ Blends markers. That smaller size helps me get in there to punch out the middle tag area.

To create the shaker part, I added a clear acetate Window Sheet first with a little snail adhesive tape. Next I used my Stampin’ Up Foam Adhesive Strips.
I cut tiny snips at the tight curves.

I added more strips around the edges and added my sequins.
After taking the paper off the strips, I add ONE MORE acetate window sheet.  Most people will add their paper or card stock on top of the window. I like to add one more acetate sheet so I can have better control of the window placement
when it comes time to put it on the card.

I tried so many colors of card stock for the greeting inside my window!  In the end I chose to stamp on the back of a new designer paper, Garden Impressions.

(good thing no one sees what the ugly side looks like, right?)

If you have the Tailored Tag Punch already, this stamp set is a must-get-now set.  The flowers can be stamped in a solid ink for quick and easy or you can enjoy adding color with markers, blends or watercolor.  The punch-able greetings are nice, too!

Item# 146681 (red rubber clear block mount)       $20

Here is the coordinating Tailored Tag punch if you don’t have it yet: Item # 145667   $18

Overall, I liked how it came out!  The paper in the window looks a little dark in the photo but it’s just my lighting trying to get out the glare from the acetate!

Here are some alternate ideas from the SU home office using this duo:

Here are my supplies I used on this fun shaker card!
The new, annual Stampin’ Up catalog is now LIVE and orderable!

5 Things that should be on your First New Catalog Order!

(Click here to view PDF version!)

It’s the first day of our brand new annual catalog!

It’s a beautiful catalog cover showcasing the 30th Anniversary of Stampin’ Up!
That’s a lot of stamps, smiles and creativity over 3 decades, isn’t it?
We have new ink and paper colors!  We have new stamps of course along with new framelits, ribbons and accessories.

I’ll be ordering my Paper and Ribbon shares first thing today when it opens along with several other goodies!  There is still time to get in on my new product shares, see my post here if you missed those.

A customer challenged me the other day to choose 5 things
she needed to add to her first order, so I took the challenge
(although it wasn’t easy to narrow down)!

#1  The Stamparatus

Item #146276   $49

It’s back and here to stay!
I know some of you were able to get it on the pre-order
but many did not and wished they had.  This tool makes stamping muliples a breeze and also takes away the oopsies we all get with stamping crooked or not getting the images uniformly inked. If you missed my Stamparatus how-to video series, you can see them
here:  https://lindastamps.com/2017/12/20/lindas-stamparatus-101-videos/

If you purchase from me, I will include a free Silicone pad that I use as a shim if needed for very thin stamps.  The Silicone pad is also a must-have for the craft room for resisting hot glue and tape messes!

#2  Big Shot Embossing Mats

Item #146327   $15

If you are on my Stamping School, I used these for 2 videos last week.  Basically we have been embossing with our dies for a while now using various shims and work-arounds.  Now with this set of two rubbery mats and a platform, it’s super easy to turn your framelits into embossed images instead of just cutting out images.  That means all of our favorite framelits can do double duty like an embossing folder !

#3  Graceful Glass 6″ X 6″ Designer Vellum

Item #146344   $11   24 sheets, 2 of each of the 12 designs

This paper….SO much fun to color!  You can see each design in the video from SU below.  Personally I own the whole suite but really the star of show is the vellum.  Get the vellum:)

#4  Really Pretty Trees with coordinating framelits!

Item # 148353   $72.75 for bundle

Every year when the new catalog comes out we look to see if Lovely as a Tree stamp set makes it another year….and it does!  While we love that timeless set it was time for it’s companion….Rooted in Nature!  It has beautiful images, sentiments and yes, framelits to cut out those trees!   It’s a BIG set, 2 stamp sets and the framelits, which makes it pricey but I think so worth it!   Fantastic fonts and 3 of the leaf dies emboss your paper, too.

Here is a video from the home office showing the bundle.  Try not to be distracted by Jessica saying Macaroon when she means Macaron:)

#5  Simply Shammy

#147042   $8.00

I love this purple thing!
(and it’s my free gift to you if you order $50 or more from me in June!)

I’ve used the blue and yellow auto shammies for years as you know.  But now we have our own AND it’s THICK!  So I don’t have to layer my blue ones up 3 layers, it’s just one nice hunka foam.  Oh, and it fits perfectly in our clear mount stamp cases!
I like to keep it moist and in the stamp case on my table. I just tap off my stamp on scrap paper first and then tap on the shammy.  ALL the ink comes off.  It’s awesome.  It will never look this pretty again but I rinse it out and although stained, it wont’ transfer the ink.

Simply Shammy   #147042     Price: $8.00

This reusable stamp cleaning cloth makes stamp cleaning effortless. Just add water, then wipe stamps on the shammy. Durable, thick shammy easily cleans ink from narrow grooves. No lint, no chemicals—just clean! (Ink will stain shammy but won’t transfer to your fingers or other stamps.) With its portable 5″ x 7″ size, it fits neatly in our clear mount stamp case!  You still need your Stampin’ Scrub and Stampin’ Mist cleaner for waterproof inks like the old archival or stazon.  This shammy is just for our classic, non-waterproof inks in all our colors.

That’s my 5 top picks!  I hope you enjoy the new catalog as much as I do!  Below are some links to the new product.  You may want to visit the Stampin’ Up YouTube Channel to see LOTS of new product videos from the home office!  Click HERE to see those!

**A few things not available quite yet**
The New Stampin’ Blends colors will not be available until mid-June. I will post more information as soon as they give us an exact date.   Also the Big Planner Kit & Refill will be available June 11 instead of June 1.

If you don’t have the new catalog yet, email me with your name and address and I’ll get one mailed out to you!  (current demonstrators please get your complimentary copy from SU)
