The Office Card…

Hi all!

This stamp set wasn’t one I initially chose but fell in my lap by accident. I hadn’t planned on getting it but accidentally ordered it and so glad I did!
It’s the perfect set for the office or anyplace someone may work.
It has a welcome, happy birthday, retirement, promotion, goodbye and just a card for someone nice you work with.

I’ve had a busy few weeks and I’m in my mobile office today at the airport.   I wish you could have seen the strange looks while I was trying to take these photos here at the gate:)

I did a video for this fold over on my Stamping School a few weeks ago using the Follow your Art suite from Stampin’ Up.  I got this pretty swap from my team member, Sarah Rigby and it inspired me to make one:

She used the Beautiful Friendship stamp with Highland Heather color scheme.

What I love is all the empty space available for everyone to sign the card!
I chose a red/white and black theme to keep it simple so the signatures can stand out once they all sign it.

I tweaked my measurements a bit so it folded a little bit flatter.  It’s easy to cut and score!
if you are a customer or on my team, be sure to login to view the alternate project video!.

Basic Measurements:  The main card in Real Red is 4-1/4” x 11”, score in landscape position at 2-3/4”and 5-1/2”.  The black layer is 3-3/4” x 10”, score in landscape position at 2-1/2” and 5”.  The 2 pieces offset nicely for a fun fold!  Then you can just cut your white panels to fit the 3 spaces .

Here’s another cute idea using the set from Stampin’ Up home office:

Soft Sea Foam meets Pretty Peacock….

A little Lace stamp set from Stampin up

This stamp set is called A Little Lace and it’s a sweet one with delicate stitching and sentiments.  It’s in the Stampin’ Up annual catalog # 149364 for $21.

I needed a quick card and the Soft Sea foam was laying out already
and so was my Peacock ink pad so I said, sure, why not?

A little lace card in pretty peacock and soft sea foam

I love the color combo!

Pretty easy layout and I just stamped the largest stamp 2x on the Sea Foam panel and added the border strip in white card stock.
The hardest part (if you even call it hard) was fussy cutting the little flower:)

Side note – as we had dinner last night,
one of the husbands called it ‘Fuzzy’ cutting LOL.
that about sums it up.

It’s also available as a bundle with a large die:

The $14 Magnolia stamp set you won’t find in a catalog….

Magnolia Blooms $14 #152729

Stampin’ Up slid 3 new stamp sets into a ‘beginner stamper’ brochure that I ignored at first.   Then people started talking about this little magnolia set and how to get it.
The Magnolia bundle in the catalog is fabulous but pricey with the 2 stamp sets/dies.
This little guy is a great addition if you already have that bundle or if you want just a little bit of magnolias in your life!

Click HERE to view the 2019 Beginner Brochure PDF
(I think these sets are available all year til June.)
If you would like one mailed to you, let me know!

I was late in making thank you cards and needed them quickly!
No fussy cutting, very little coloring
and I even had time to add some designer paper to the flap!

I already had the Petal Pink note card embossed with the brick folder from another unfinished project so I used it to layer my 2″ designer paper and label on.
(yes you can still mail a 3-1/2 x 5 card in the US!)

I love the new stitched nested label dies, by the way.
Originally I wished they layered with each other better
but I find I just don’t need to layer them!  They look great on their own.

Stitched Nested Labels Dies  #149638  $35

They are also offering a bundle of items to make it easy for the beginner stamper.
#The Magnolia Lane Card Bundle is $ 45.50  and #152868
It includes the Magnolia Blooms Photopolymer Stamp Set—6 stamps, Clear Block D, two of the 1″ Classic Stampin’ Spots in 1 Mossy Meadow and 1 Soft Suede, Magnolia Lane Small Memories & More Card Pack (10 double-sided printed cards) and 10 note cards/10 envelopes, and SNAIL Adhesive.

I think we can all relate to just getting started and not knowing what to buy, so this may help some stampers get started.

Here are the other 2 stamp sets in that Beginner stamper brochure that are not
in the annual catalog:

Celebrate with Cake $16  #149501
They also have a bundle for new stampers:

The bundle is $46.50  #152861 and includes the Celebrate with Cake Photopolymer Stamp Set—14 stamps, Clear Block D, 2 Classic Stampin’ Pads—1 Flirty Flamingo and 1 Granny Apple Green and 20 Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes
(3-1/2 x 5 size, mail-able)

This one is the Hoot Hoot Hooray set $21 #149352
It has a bundle also, which would be a great gift for a young teen or someone just getting started on stamping and coloring.

It’s $60 for the bundle and item #152871   It includes the Hoot Hoot Hooray Cling (rubber) Stamp Set–6 stamps, Clear Block D, full size Basic Gray Classic Stampin’ Pad,  20 Whisper White Note Cards and Envelopes, 13 Watercolor Pencils in Basic Black, Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Rich Razzleberry, and Whisper White.

4th of July Party: Coozie Gift for the Hosts

We live in the most wonderful, social neighborhood.  If there is an opportunity to get together, we do and especially an important holiday like the 4th of July.
One couple in particular offers to host each year and I like to take a little somethin’ somethin’ to show our thanks for hosting.

I found a set of 2 coozies, decked out in stars and stripes for the 4th but wanted
to make  them a little more personal.
I made a patriotic heart and added a die cut Thanks to it.

I added  2 real red card stock strips + one white strip (all 1/4″ wide) on top of Blueberry Bushel card stock.  Then cut with a heart framelit.   After that I ended up choosing silver foil for my Well Written dies for the ‘thanks’.  I popped it up on a stitched circle and added a little sequin trim and star embellies.

Side note – I have used these dies SO much!
They are just the right size, about 1/2″ high.
$40 set of 24,  #148534

Whatever you will be doing on Independence Day
or how you celebrate, I hope you all have a great holiday weekend!

Don’t forget July is $5 bonus coupon month!
Spend $50 and earn a $5 coupon to use in August.

Totally unrelated to stamping but
I found this interesting bit of Trivia about the 4th of July and presidents:

Three presidents have died, and one was born, on the Fourth of July!
Both Thomas Jefferson and John Adams died on July 4, 1826—50 years to the day after the Declaration of Independence was adopted. Also James Monroe, the nation’s fifth president, died just a few years later on July 4, 1831.  And one more, the 30th president, Calvin Coolidge, was born on July 4, 1872.

Taking the new SHIMMER embossing powders for a test ride….

Something new and sparkly has appeared
in the Stampin’ Up annual catalog this year!
SHIMMER Black and Shimmer White embossing powder a
nd it’s really fun to play with.
I think they are a good deal at $6 each for a 1/2 oz jar.

They should really be called Sparkle or Glitter embossing powder, not Shimmer.
They sparkle rather than just shimmer, which I’m happy about.

Here you can see samples of white powder on black cardstock
and black powder on white card stock.  It is hard to capture the iridescent sparkle:

They pair So perfectly with the new suite, Silhouette Scenes!
If you are a member of my Stamping School for videos, I used it in 2 videos this week because I love it so much.  (ordering customers and team get free access to my videos)

I used my VersaMark ink pad over the white card stock dandelion flower tops and then sprinkled with the white shimmer powder, tapped off excess and heat with the heat gun tool.  Sparkly! ( I even took it outside but it was too cloudy
to capture how pretty it is in person)

The designer paper is from the Woven Threads package. I liked the peacock color and I used the Granny Apple green marker on the stems.

silouette scenes
Here is a closer look at the stamps/dies.  I like to stamp them all when I get them in hand, just to see what they do!  I had a few images that needed some darkening after I stamped so I used the Light Black Stampin’ Blends alcohol marker.  Stamps on the left, 5 dies on the right.

Here is one from the home office designers, using the Black Shimmer embossing powder:

And this one….VersaMark your cut out word dies and shake a little of the powder on, tap off excess, heat with your heat tool and oh yes, glittery goodness.

shimmer black art 2

(Those pretty flowers are from the See a Silhouette paper
and they just cut out those pretty flowers.

NEW this year, are Suite Bundles.   It’s just a way to order the whole coordinating bundle of products under one item number.  #152169 is 92.00 and includes
* Silhouette Scenes Cling Stamp Set (10% off)
* Sweet Silhouettes Dies (10% off)
* See a Silhouette 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper (12 sheets)
* Mini Library Clips
* 10 yards Crushed Curry 3/8″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon
* Shimmer Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder
* Shimmer White Stampin’ Emboss Powder

I did get the whole thing:) Not sure what I will do with those tiny clips yet
but I’ll think of something fun to do!

I hope you find time to stamp and create today!
