Multi-Color greetings how-to and Dates to remember….

I can’t believe it’s almost 2016! I’m sure last year I said I couldn’t believe it was 2015, since it sounds so ‘buck rogers’ and futuristic! We aren’t flying around like the Jetsons yet, but I’m sure it’s coming.

Below is a card made with some pretty, new designer paper coming out January 5th in the Stampin’ Up Occasions catalog. I fussy cut the flowers from the paper, which is called Birthday Bouquet.  It has Mint, Blushing Bride, Mossy Meadow and Watermelon with white in it.  It’s an eclectic mix of patterns with the pretty roses and then ice cream cones and soft balloons on other sheets but they all go together oddly!

The greeting is from a set called Birthday Blooms.  It’s meant to coordinate with Cottage Greetings, so if you have that set this is a great companion.  There’s just a touch of white Dazzling Details Glimmer paper for the banner to add some sparkle.

Sometimes I don’t want to go to the trouble of using 2 markers on one stamp to get that multi-color look.  On this card I stamped the greeting twice – once in Mint Melody and once in Watermelon Wonder. I closely hand trimmed the watermelon stamped ‘birthdays’ and just adhered it over the word on the mint stamped paper.

It’s probably more noticeable on the close up photos but not many notice it as much for the recipient. Look for these new products coming out January 5th!
