Video: Letterpress Technique with Inked Dies

A few weeks ago I asked if you wanted me to show you how to emboss with the hot foil or impressions dies.
I started out embossing and inking but ended up with something I like even more!  And through some experimenting with layers, turns out you can get a perfectly inked impression without a rubber pad!  It’s all about the sandwich or layers….

Stampin’ Up already had Impressions dies to use with the impressions mat.  Now the Hot Foil dies are pretty much the same type of die.  A  bit smoother and they don’t cut thru paper or materials.   The Hot Foil dies can be included in with regular dies.  You will know by the packaging graphic as the gold color images are for hot foil or embossing and the black images are regular dies.

You may already have an “impressions” die set.
Opulent Oasis was one of the first impressions dies in the catalog last year (still avail on Last Chance list), Phrases & Frames.
A few new sets:   Elegantly Wrapped die set and Winter Adventures.
The smoother dies that will emboss well are a different color.
