This week I was playing around with the new 3 step butterflies, called Watercolor Wings (page 75 of new SU annual catalog) I used just the one stamp you see top right in the photo below on the vellum card stock then cut out with the coordinating framelits (page 172)
I crack up at how we all say “I already have butterfly stamps” and then we buy another one! Must be like owning 3 pairs of black shoes that all do the same thing, just a little bit different for the perfect outfit.
I used the new Metallic Thread for his ‘antlers’ (page 159). I thought it would be heavier but it’s like a fine hair, super strong but very light.
There is a new embossing folder called Elegant Dots. (page 174, 6th one over) It’s classy and has a tight pattern that balances the large butterfly. I used the new heavy Whisper white card and it’s really nice! We really really needed a heavy white stock for white cards. (see page 149)
I used the new Expressions Natural Elements, which are wood veneer words (see page 160)
They come natural but I versamarked them and added gold embossing powder. The first word I snapped in half as I pressed it into my versamark pad…don’t do that:) Instead use a sponge dauber or tap the ink pad on top of the words, then powder and heat!
Since I’m using it as a wedding card, I added an embossed greeting inside to make it more special. See the new framelits? They are called Lots of Labels on page 173. I used a larger one on the front of the card to put all the elements on.
New also this year are gold/silver foil doilies!
Shiny and bright, sturdy and both colors come in one pack with different sizes in the package. (page 148 at bottom)

Great deal on the Pansy Punch if you don’t own it yet! And the satin ribbon I used on the card above it on sale, that’s convenient!
I’m a lucky stamper to be able to swap 10 cards each month with a group of demonstrators around the states. I love getting my box each month to see what they created! Here are a few from this month. (I love them all but have a full day ahead of me and have to limit today!)
Kimberly Allen is a master at the coloring with any medium and now here with the Blendies, just perfect!
See how she used the light gray for shadows around the flowers? Adds so much. She used Corner Garden, which looks like nothing when you see it in black and white in the catty 🙂
‘
I love this bird because it’s so realistic! This one was stamped by Carole Gilmore using the stamp set, An Open Heart:
I tried to use the SU Stencils to create a plaid using this set, but I don’t think it was too successful.
What do you think?
A few new item from SU and the weekly Deals:
Another Photopolymer Set, You’re Wonderful, is just too sweet! You can print the flyer for true to life size!
18 stamps, 23.95 It looks like the words are curved to fit in the banners.
A new Photopolymer set called 25 Days popped up today! #135041 $25.95.
The description says “Make the holidays count by counting down the days with this creative photopolymer set. Perfect for stamping advent calendars, it’s sure to be a centerpiece of your season. Set quantity: 25.” We needed a current one for people who want to make advents this year, so this is a nice addition!
The Weekly Deals really have some Deals this week!
That 2″ punch is new this year and it fits nice and snug into the 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle punch! So does the 1-3/4 but this is a bit larger and looks nice! And the glitter….we are heading into the holidays so glitter will be upon us soon….literally!
Yee-Haw! Dust off those boots, shine up your spurs, and figure out where you left your ten-gallon hat because with the 25-piece Yee-Haw photopolymer stamp set you can really let your cowboy (or girl) flag fly!
I have officially mailed out the NEW 2014-2015 Stampin UP catalogs to all who have requested one here on the blog or otherwise.
I mailed them all out on Monday, so if you have not received yours by today, please email me! Over the years I’ve learned about 5% never make it.
Those of you I’m seeing this week, you will get yours in person.
“PIN-spired”
In the wee hours, if I find the Ipad on my nightstand, I might visit Pinterest. If I’m feeling unorganized, there’s a million ways to solve any problem. If I’m feeling plump that day, I may look for healthy recipes. If I’m feeling lonely, I look at boston terrier puppies….Pinterest is the fix for just about mood 🙂
Sometimes I look through the stamping and papercrafting, save a few for inspiration.
Sadly, this one had no name or watermark on it, as it often happens on Pinterest. I loved the color combo of Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler and So Saffron. We don’t have the eyelets or that stamp anymore, but I made my own version of it.
Here’s my “PIN-spired” version:
I used the stamp set in the Occasions catalog called So Very Grateful, which will not be carrying over into the new catty so if you want it, get it before June 1st.
16.95 Clear Mount, # 133053
Pansy Punch for the flower, Bird Builder punch for the leaves. We have a super cool new DSP coming out in the new catty called Typeset – thin newsprinty paper that will be SO useful for lots of projects.
Thank you for the inspiration, wherever you are!

Love the 2 embossing folders and the Set of 2 mini folders on sale this week. The mini set of 2 measure 4-1/2″ x 2-7/8″ each and the oval coordinates with the Extra-Large oval punch we still sell.
The Peek-a-boo die is a great deal, too. I still use mine and it can’t go out of style. It creates windows and doors, perfect for Advent calendars, etc. Uses standard cutting plates.
Off to work on this week’s Stamping School videos. I have NO idea what to create this week and being on vacation has gotten me off my stamping mojo. Send me some artsy vibes!
Here’s another Photopolymer stamp set for us from Stampin’ Up! I sure do love these type of stamps for their stickiness and no inked edges on my projects. There are 2 under the same name, Countless Sayings #1 and Countless Sayings #2 so be careful when ordering to get the one(s) you want.
