Rainy and windy today here in Houston but no snow so everyone was liking the weather. In fact, there is a rooftop hotel pool and hot tub that was full of demonstrators tonight!
Today was full of classes here at the SU Leadership conference. We had a special Keynote speaker, Pat Pearson, who delivered an inspiring talk. A really nice sit-down lunch and then some picture taking of displays, dinner and then back at 7 pm for our Make and Take stamping night. SU had a few fun projects and well as lots of demonstrations.
Here are the tags we made with the wooden accents, the new scallop tag punch and Kaleidoscope paper .

Here’s our group with a new friend, Lucia, on the far right.

SU gave us these cute totes with our stamps and project kits.

I liked this watercolor card:

This was my swap this year. I forgot to take them down with me the first day so I still have 75 more to unload tomorrow!

Saturday we have big class in the morning, lunch and then the last general session where hopefully we will see some fun new stamping techniques and ideas!

(I started this post yesterday but it was so busy, I didn’t have a chance to finish. So I’m actually sitting at the airport now and catching up, ready to go home! )
Oh my aching feet but the rest of me is on top of the world here in Utah. It’s our last day of convention I just got kicked out of the Display area since they need to tear down. This is the first time I didn’t get to everything!
Last night was awards night and what a great time!

Jan Burnett, Patsy Waggoner and I caught up in the recognition room afterwards to celebrate.
For the first time in my Stampin’ Up career, I placed in the Top 10 twice!
#9 for Recruiting, which is determined by the number if Sr. Associate promotions in your direct first levels. Then I was flabbergasted to earned 2nd Place for Leadership, which is determined by promotions to Supervisor or above in your first level directs. I’m still in shock and truly the best part was hearing my team scream and cheer for me! I’m sorry to those ears sitting near them LOL
I did earned Founders (the Top 100 in the US) again this year and received this beautiful purse!

Susan Kirk made this pretty card. Love the color combo!

Susan Scarpelli Put together this card and I love how she used two rows of the new InColor stretchy ribbon.

This is the card given to me by Stampin’ Up! on awards night. So pretty with all the glimmer paper and inside was a gift certificate, which I used right away!

Sarah Rigby Loves her scallops and this card has Several rows of scallops to set it apart!

Serena Marsh Made this cute card and the hearts are all popped up.

Nancy Walko Created this beautiful card using the Expressions Thinlits dies. The Bird wing was created by the loop in the letter Y. Wasn’t that creative?

Simone Bartum gave me this adorable notepad holder and pen. She was so clever and use the word window punch to create a notch so it doesn’t fall off!

Julie Ross What’s the smarty and used the woodgrain embossing folder and ink to create an ocean design.
Signing off, Getting ready to board the plane and head home. Thanks for tuning in!

I’m back in the convention center and Finally getting a chance to look at some of the displays. As I see something really cool that I like I’ll share with you! Just know that there’s nothing like being here because it’s always amazing and pictures can’t even express a fraction of excitement.

The product displays have all of our sweets and products from the catalogs and holiday catalogs on display so we can touch them and feel them. They always look so much better in person!

There’s a cool display called the 25 year gallery and the picture below is the picture of Shelly and the very first catalog 25 years ago. So fun to see how they have grown through the years!
Remember This one ?

Or this one?

Here Are a few from our artisan team and display stampers:

No names posted on these 3-D displays so if you know, drop me a comment

I could look at Alanna Wharf’s art all day!

We received three or four stamps at this year for our convention and here are some ideas using those sets

We have these cute little muslin bags in the holiday catalog and they decorated them up cute. I love the tie-dye!

Artist unknown

I haven’t done my make intakes yet but here is a little bag that a demonstrator already completed. Isn’t it cute?
Gotta run! Go stamp something 🙂

Hi all! I’m still here in hot but pretty Salt Lake City Utah at the SU convention. I’ve received some emails asking where are all my posts for convention since I normally post a lot! I’ll tell you why I’m doing one a day and if you are on FB, you can get hourly posts on my Stamping School page at www.facebook.com/stampingschool With so many people on smart phones and lots without unlimited data, every blog post that comes in has LOADS of data. So if I post 3x, that could eat up someone’s data for a month with all the photos, etc. So this year I made a quick decision to do one a day and summarize my favorite swaps and highlights knowing most of you are on FB
. If you want me to go back to blogging 3x a day during convention, let me know – love to hear what works better 🙂
So, on to the fun from today and a little from last night!
This year SU has a Recognition Room for those that have earned awards like milestones, sales, promotions, or trips. It was set up with ropes and a ‘bouncer’ who took your demo ID number to see if you were on the list to get in!

I’m so thrilled that one of my directs,Debbi Muche, earned the San Diego trip! Debbi and I enjoyed the calm in the room and it was wonderful. Tonight is awards night so we have to get gussied up and head over around 7:00 to see who earned the Top 100 Founders trip, who is in the top for sales and for promotions. Exciting!
This morning Shelli Gardner started us off in the General Session with 25 projects! Remember I’m shooting from a screen so these aren’t perfect until I can get to take real pics. With almost 6000 stampers, it’s been challenging to get pics!
Sometimes you just need to go outside and get a breather! Here are a few of us getting some air…

VERY exciting new products coming! 4 new ones that we all just squealed over! I’m not supposed to show product pics until they are available to order but I can show projects…
One is for the crafty people that would like to carve their own stamps! It’s a kit called “Undefined” and it comes with the rubber, 2 carving tools, a few templates, blocks and foam to mount. Your imagination is your limitation to what kind of stamp you can make! Shannon West drew bacon strips with a pencil, rubbed it onto the rubber to leave an image then carved it out! She stamped the image on the wood block with StazOn, then put the foam on, trim the stamp and you are ready to go!
This is her bacon, eggs and diet coke she drew and carved out to make these stamps – blurry, sorry ! Will get better ones later. She made that bacon stamp in like 5 min!

Can you see this one? It’s a FRAMELIT set that makes swing/flip cards! And it comes with words, too!

AND another one that makes circle swing cards!

Yes, the chevron comes in the set!
Then there is a really cool envelope maker. I know you think you won’t need it because of the diag score board but you might! It punches the notches AND scores the lines to make tons of sizes. Its cool….
Ok, the wifi in the hotel stinks! I’m going back over and finish up with my phone….terribly slow!

Hey stampin’ friends!
It’s HOT here in Utah but not as hot as 6000 stampers all over the convention center. It’s so crazy and full of energy!
I’ve been posting over on the Stamping School Facebook page all throughout the day but I’ll recap here once a day since I know some aren’t on FB.

“Be the difference” Is the theme for this year’s convention. Here is a cute pic of Cindy Brumbaugh holding this year’s convention Tee!
It’s the 25th anniversary so there are double the people here than usual.

Thousands of demonstrators got on buses to take them over to Riverton to the Stampin’ Up! distribution center for a tour. Here is a picture of the Stampin’ Up! corporate office foyer taken by Amanda Hartley. So pretty!
Gen. session does not open until 5 PM this evening. That’s when we will get our convention bag and have our first big meeting with everybody together.
Here are a few of my favorite swaps today for inspiration:

I didn’t really like this stamp set from the holiday catalog but now that I’ve seen what Mary Polcin did with it, I love it! Love the designer paper love the layout and the pretty brad in the corner.

Mary Ellen Byler made me have to buy this set with this card!

This card is so, so clever! Michelle Humphrey Used painters tape pressed in ink to create the three stripes on this card. Totally have to try this!
Okay, have to run an change for this evening. They are asking everyone who bought one of the convention T-shirts to wear it tonight so I got to see if mine fits. I hear they run super small so I’m crossing my fingers!

Here are a few great swaps I received today from my talented team and demo friends:

Linda Goldherz, who is German, stamped this adorable card.
Anyone speak German and can translate?

Dress detail 🙂

Clever Wanda Smith made the dress form into a Stampin’ Up apron!

Debi LaFountaine made this pretty card

By my friend Rhea Hughes from Montana
Guess where we are going tonight? Stampin’ Up is taking the Managers and above to an exclusive night at Harry Potter! Can’t wait and the husbands are going also, so that will be fun. The park closes at 6 so we will have the whole area, rides and food all to ourselves.

Stopped by the Check In booth to pick up my free stamp set, lanyard and packet.
Across the way, LOTS of camera flashes going off like paparazzi!

I’ll come back and take better photos with my good camera later (and once the crowd calms down!)

We can’t forget to give finger snaps and applause to the demonstrators
who stamped these display board projects!

Madison Avenue is a free stamp set offered during Sale-a-bration
January 22-March 22nd. Love what they did with it!

It’s fun to see all the product in person, too!
More in a while!

Some of us like to bring little gifts for our teams that attend the conference.
This year I made necklaces using a pendant and glass! I stamped 3 varieties of colors and out them in cute little tins.
I used the new Collage Curios stamp set:

These are the little tins!

These adorable altoid tins are by Deb Valder for her team:

And inside, a little convention survival kit!

More later!

1At our annual convention a few weeks ago in Utah, Stampin’ Up had a display of artwork from our Spanish catalog. It is a beautiful catalog with 47 pages of ideas and projects! I thought you might enjoy seeing the samples and I wish I knew who created them to give them credit. I’m not sure if they were stamped by a demonstrator or the home office. If you would like your very own copy of our Spanish Idea Book and Catalog free, sign up HERE. If you live in the Florida area, we have several spanish speaking demonstrators I can introduce you to so you can attend classes or workshops!
On with the samples! Because there were so many, I inserted them in a gallery. Just click on the pic to enlarge. All Images Copyright Stampin’ Up!
