Black Splash with Blendies

I’m drawn to black and white patterns, in clothing or home accessories and especially paper.

When I saw the new Stampin’ Up catalog had a pack of paper designed just for me (wink) I was SO happy!

It’s called Back to Black and has lots of striking, pretty patterns. See page 187 in your SU catty.

You can color your DSP with markers but the new Blendabilities are SUPER smooth and leave no streaks.

(I call them Blendies, since we are close now:)

Even Matt, with his discerning and sometimes critical eye, couldn’t tell it was hand colored and wasn’t bought that way.

The first one I made I colored in the stems and all the leaves/flowers.  It needed a little restraint on my part to avoid those the 2nd try!

When you try this at home, leave a little border of white around your images as the Blendies will soak up to the edges naturally.

I used the lightest yellow in the Daffodil Assorment #130998, the lightest red in the Cherry Cobbler assortment #130995

and the lightest green in the Olive assortment #130999.

I love the Black and white version also, with a pop of red!

The card is Basic Black, 4-1/4″ x 8-1/2″, scored in landscape position at 4-1/4″ for a top fold card.

The skinny layer is 4-1/8″ x 4-1/8″

and the DSP is 4″ x 4″ so you can get 9 cards from each sheet.

The sweet greetings are from a new hostess set coming out soon, I think in the Holiday catalog, called Good Greetings.

Go Stamp Something!
