Video: Evergreen Border Punch

Gold heat embossing just feels like the holidays for some reason!
I had a request from Sharon in Texas to use the Stampin’ Up Evergreen Border Punch.  It’s in the annual catalog, great for nature cards and today, for the holidays!

The white card is only 3-1/2″ white and sits on top of the gold/green card base.   It’s a fun fold of sorts that saves paper, too!

By the way, YES I will be doing a new catalog paper, ribbon and accessories share in January!
I’ll be posting those the week of December 20th!

Sparkle of the Season Bundle  #156765  $45.75
in the holiday July-Dec Mini Catalog

The first project I made was Halloween, and altho I don’t send many out each year I do have a few friends that LOVE it!
(I do love dressing up for costume parties at Halloween)
I really liked the black glitter paper wreath:

The owl was fussy cut from the Blackberry Beauty designer paper:

I wish you could see how gorgeous this paper is!

For my 2nd Project, I went with fall/Thanksgiving theme with a little Cinnamon Cider color added in:

Basic Borders Dies #15558  $29
These are in the Annual Stampin’ Up Catalog and I think will be handy to have.

For the 3rd project I made a 5×5 card, altho it could be easily converted to a standard sized card.
(thank you Steph for my little red bird!)

It’s hard to see the pretty detail with white on white, but here is a close-up:

Video: Christmas Pinecone Dies

Hi All!

Before my post, just a reminder to sign up for my paper, ribbon and accessories shares for the new catalog that begins Aug 3rd!
If you missed that post, here is the link to read all about it!  (it will open in a new tab)

It was SO hot here in the mountains this week so I cooled off with some winter cards.  With the upcoming release of the new Holiday catalog August 3rd, I’ve been starting to feel a little bit nostalgic for snowy pine cones and egg nog.  I’m always ready for eggnog, even in August:) This week I used a new bundle called Christmas to Remember.  It’s on page 19 of the upcoming Holiday mini catalog.

Here is the video below and below the video is the link to my Recipe PDF if you’d like to print it

This one might be my favorite!   Coloring just the white cardstock with my Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.
I layered onto Pool Party Cardstock and that went on a thick white card.  You can use a sponge dauber and ink pad, watch my tip for how to spread the ink evenly.
I love a striped ribbon and there’s a new one in pool party in the new mini catalog.

A little rustic with the Espresso/soft suede pine cones and dark spruce pine needles but adding some of the brushed gold in the label makes it feel a little more festive.

One of my favorite color combos for the winter is Bermuda Bay, White & Silver.
It just feels crisp and cool.

I will update the shopping links on Aug 3rd when this new bundle goes live for ordering!
For now, here are some of the Stampin’ Up products used for my 3 cards:

Video: Mini Ornament on a Card

Hi all!

This week I played with the gold hoops from the Stampin’ Up annual catalog.
I thought they’d make a sweet little ornament so I added it to a card.
It can easily come off the card since it’s hanging on a brad:

The Poinsettia dies with the red velvet paper really makes a nicely textured flower
altho I had a hard time getting a good pic of it!
(Watch the video below for a better look)

Wondrous Wreath Tips Video

wr 2

The Wondrous Wreath is a new photopolymer stamp set in the Holiday catalog.  I was going to make a quick video to show a few tips but then Stampin’ Up beat me to it!

Here Brandi from the corporate office shows how this set comes with a new alignment tab feature, which really helps us from turning and turning the framelits to cut out our images!

The tabs are a brilliant addition to these stamps!  Really helps to line these up, which only makes our projects look better.

Winter Cards

Need a little winter inspiration?

Each month I swap cards with a group of 10-12  demonstrators.

Here are a few of them from this month:

20131203-084418.jpg

Deb Townsend made this beauty by embossing the flower on SU vellum card stock in gold, then either brayering or sponging Cherry Cobbler ink on the back.  Our gold foil sheets used to cut out the Merry thinlit really adds the balance to the gold embossing.

20131203-084426.jpg

Mary hall stamped Lovely As a Tree in Night Of Navy ink, then added Dazzling Diamonds glitter with a glue pen over the trees as snow.  She embossed the sweet deer (from Joyful Celebrations set) in silver powder and fussy cut him out.

20131203-084435.jpg

Kimberly Allen really stepped up the silver foil card stock by embossing the Stylist Stripes diagonal folder in 2 directions to create a plaid! Brushed Silver card stock and silver glimmer paper really sparkle in person.

20131203-084443.jpg

Elizabeth Hardin created this sweet layout by using Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler card stock with For the Birds. I love this set because it’s so versatile. See it on page 28 of the big Stampin’ Up catalog.

20131203-084453.jpg

Rhea Hughes added a touch of that pretty foil paper, Winter Frost, along the top and bottom of this pretty card.  The Frosted Finishes add pretty sparkle to the middle of the snowflakes!

20131203-084500.jpg

Linda Pagel created this fun gift Santa card holder Easel Card.

20131203-084507.jpg

The band of Brown Sugar card stock is the pocket for the gift card and acts as a stopper to keep the card propped up.

20131203-084535.jpg

Totally non-stamping related! Do you know what new breed this is?  A Pomsky! Half husky, half Pomeranian.  Yes, we are still partial to Boston Terriers but entertaining the idea of other breeds. (Matt loves huskies)  I’m told they get about 15-20 pounds, look like a husky but stay small.  I hear they still howl like a husky so can be noisy.  Meanwhile, we are still checking out the Boston terrier adoptions!

I hope you are inspired to go stamp something today!

Single Stamps

The 2nd promotion is a TEST PILOT PROGRAM that SU is experimenting with.  They realize that some stampers may want just one stamp out of a stamp set.  Maybe you have a baby shower or someone needs that one stamp only to make a project perfect!

Stampin’ Up is testing the sale of Single Stamps.  They have chosen 3 stamp sets to purchase individual stamps- Word Play, Perfectly Penned, and Seasonal Sayings. The offer will be available now through January 2, 2013.

Here are a few things you need to know before purchasing:

  • These stamps are available on any order type-customer, demonstrator, workshop, or online.
  • You can find the stamp item numbers on the flyers.
  • These single stamps can be ordered in the online store.
  • These won’t be sent to you in our typical cases or packaging; they’ll be packaged in cello bags. If you’d like a case for your stamp, you can buy our Clear-Mount Stamp Cases that come in packs of four (item 119105).
  • This offer is available for clear-mount stamps only.
  • The stamps won’t come with a Clear-Mount Block, and you’ll need to buy a block separately if you don’t already have one. The recommended block sizes can be found on the flyers.
  • There’s no limit on how many pieces you can buy.
  • This offer is not available in Quebec.
  • Remember that this is a pilot program, so take advantage of it while you can!
  • Keep in mind that there is a minimum 6.95 shipping for orders under $69, then it’s only 10%. (that would defeat the $5 stamp lol) If you want a stamp and you see me locally, I can throw it on an order and you can get it from me at the next class to save on shipping.
