Video: Pop Up Planter Box Card + Tulip Ideas!

Hi all!  I’ve been playing in the tulip field this week, while being snowed in here in the mountains.
I have a few other tulip bundles from years past but I I really liked the sentiments in this new set and I was also intrigued to work with the ‘folding’ design of the dies.    My video this week shows how to make a pop up card and I also show 4 other designs using the same bundle.    I hope you try to make one of them with your tulips or flower dies!

I created a few other cards using the Tulips bundle!
I really love the versatility of changing the colors around.
In all of them I used the Flowering Fields 12 x 12 Tulip paper in the Stampin’ Up mini catalog.
When a paper has SO many colors, there are so many possibilities for card base colors.

I rarely use Gorgeous grape but it works so well as a card base with a bright, yellow tulip!  Just a little bit of the Flowering Fields paper along the side.  A panel of Highland Heather cardstock embossed with the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder from the SU annual catalog.  The Highland Heather ribbon is a little sparkly – I didn’t know until I ordered it and was pleasantly surprised!  The glittery Ombre paper and Rainbow paper are both in the annual catalog and are so pretty with spring flowers for a touch of sparkle.

As I went back to the Stampin’ Up annual catalog, I saw the Hydrangea Mercury Acetate and it is perfect for Tulips!

I love Pool Party and Poppy Parade colors together anytime!  Winter cards or Spring and just a touch of black.
The vellum banner helps soften the paper to add a single tulip.
I added a touch of white ink to the flower bud to mimic the designer paper.

This the project I make in the video – I call it a Pop Up Planter Box Card

This pretty card was made by Debbie Hileman, a talented stamper on my team.
She used the long die as a nice accent over the paper!
