I hope you all are well and staying healthy during this crazy time!
Matt and I are both well and added a puppy to our life. He came with the name Domino, 3-1/2 months and is a border collie/basset mix. Those short little legs won me over!
Super sweet and came from a wonderful rescue in GA called Dirt Road Doggies. He was found with 3 siblings in an abandoned house then went to live on a farm with other dogs so he’s very socialized but had never been in a house before! So far potty training has been easy but it’s only been 2 days:) It’s been 10 years since we had a dog so we are in training, too:) Anyway, it’s a good way to be quarantined since we should be staying home!

Checking in, paper shares and virtual hugs….

Hi all!

I hope you are healthy and staying in without getting cabin fever.
I hear some of you are still working, some have been cleaning out closets and lots are crafting!  I’ve healed well from my surgery and on my way back to normal thankfully.
I’m back to doing 2 stamping videos a week over on Stamping School so be sure to go over there to see what’s new.  It’s only $5 a month to access my video library of over 1000 videos.  (and free to ordering customers and team)

I thought since I have a little more time this week, I’d do a round of paper shares.
I missed doing one in January with my month long hospital vacation, so why not now?
For those that missed it and want to have a piece
of all the new seasonal papers, here it is:

48 6×6 sheets featuring the following papers:

Paper Shares 48 Sheets $17 (free shipping)
DOUBLE shares are available upon request, 6×12 sized when applicable,
are available upon request for the paper shares. $30
I put them all in a nice acetate box and a little extra gift inside, too.

I’ll create a share for every 8 people, I’ll order and then divide it all up!

Email me to join my shares  Linda@stampingschool.com
by March 23rd and I can get them back to you by march 31st.
Let me know in email if you want a regular share or the 6×12 size.

(Per SU policy, U.S. Orders only)

We are only a week away from the 3rd release of freebies for Sale a Bration!  More will be released on March 24th, so I’ll be back then to let you know what they will be.  Typically they are accessories or items from the annual catalog but we’ll see!

For now, all the freebies are still here except the  Kerchief kit, Twine/Sequins and Honey bee paper.  Those are sold out but lots more freebies to choose from with every $50 or $100 order!  Click here to see all the freebies!

What a difference a card makes….

I kept all the cards sent to me during my long hospital stay and the recovering months since.  I revisit them, reading the well wishes and thoughts that encouraged me.  In the hospital I wasn’t always up to opening them but once I was home, what a difference each one made.  Many of you I haven’t met in person but your paper hugs across the miles were much needed!

Here are a few more I received recently and hopefully some inspiration for you to make your own cards to send to someone who needs it!

This sunny card was created by Janet Munden using the Painted Poppies set.  I love she didn’t use the usual red or poppy color and chose a happy yellow.

This cutie was created by Debbi Muche, who used the host set, Little Ladybug.  I really like the background paper using the Lily Impressions designer paper (freebie during Sale-a-Bration)  The inside is just as cute:

These next two cards were from Debbie Hileman.
I love the simplicity of both and the little touches of metallic.

I like the way she used the poppy stamp with blackberry card stock.

I love the mix of greens in this card using the Timeless Tropical bundle.

Thank you for stopping by!  I appreciate all your warm comments and encouragement!

Best Dressed: Reverse Die Cutting Video

While I’m still on the mend, I’m sharing projects from my presentation in November for the Best Dressed Suite, which is the new Stampin’ Up seasonal catalog.

Reverse die cutting (or it also works with punched images!) is something I happened up a few years ago playing with the Stamparatus.  Maybe someone else has figured it out also but it really is a handy trick, especially when the die only goes in one direction.
I really wanted one shoe to sit on the shoe box in one direction and one on the floor.
(you know when you just have a vision and have to figure it out, right)

Most of us are familiar with reverse or mirror image stamping using the silicone pad.
This just takes it a bit further for no fussy cutting of the reverse image.
Here is a quick video I did back in November to show it rather than try to type it:

I hope you give it a try!
If you are a member of Stamping School, be sure to re-watch the video called
Happy Tails: Mirror Image Punching, December 2018, to see how it works with punches.

Best Dressed: Valentine

I don’t send too many Valentines each year but I think this layout could go for anniversary or birthday to the right person!  I ended up starting with squares as the background but they ended up more rectangles to fit my card.  I love the addition of the tassel.

The Best Dressed 6×6 have such pretty florals on one side!

Here are a few of the Stampin’ Up supplies I used
(if you click on the photos, they will take you to my online store for a larger view)

That’s all for me to today!

Best Dressed: Scene from an organized closet

Hi all! I’m sharing a few more samples from my presentation back in November in Atlanta at the Stampin’ Up On stage event:

I can guarantee my closet never looks like this…maybe one day if I do a big purge
and kick Matt out of his side LOL

There’s a sample in the seasonal catalog, page 54.  It has 2 shelves with shoes and purses.  It’s all fussy cut, right down to the straps of the shoes!
(I’m not sure how many of us will cut those out!)

So I needed to simplify to get the same feel without so much work.
The shoes are die cut out of designer paper with a little smoky slate blends marker along the inside.  The purse and bag are cut out of the designer paper but I used twine for the handle and added 2 pearls on the clutch (which sorta remind me cookie monster or another muppet for some strange reason)

Thankfully the shoes have a die!

The Pocket die you see below in the floral paper can be a sign like I used for my closet sample!  It can also be a purse or tote latch.

I love a pocket!  Here is the purse die with a mini greeting card in the pocket.

By the way, here if you love tassels like I do, you can use your Stampin’ Blends (alcohol marker) to ‘dip dye’ your tassels!   Dries so much faster than dipping in ink refills and far less messy!

Don’t forget it’s SALE_A_BRATION time!
Free gift with every $50 purchase
You can see them all HERE

Linda’s Health Update:
Thank you for your sweet get well cards, emails and phone calls!
I’ve had some encouraging reports over the last few weeks.  The latest CT scan shows improvement in my infection areas and my last drain was removed today.  They are watching it carefully to make sure it’s all really gone but I’m hopeful!
Now I’m working on getting my lungs back to normal and building endurance.
All in all, I’m doing better!

Best Dressed: Backpack

(taken November 17th, 2019 in Atlanta)

Back in November, I was honored to be asked to demonstrate the new Best Dressed Suite at the Atlanta On Stage Stampin’ Up conference.  It’s a really fun suite and you can find it on pages 54-56 of the new seasonal catty.

I thought I’d share some of my favorite projects this week from my demo.
One is taking the cute tote/purse die and making it into a backpack!

I used a stitched Oval die to create the top of the backpack.
The long stitched belts are just looped around to create the straps.
I added a velcro dot to hold it closed.   The little yellow button is paper and from the dies.
What to put in it?  It’s just the right size for a small treat, about 3-13/4″ tall x 3-1/4″ wide at bottom (and 2-1/2″ at top) if pleated in like the backpack.
If you open the gussets for more a ‘tote’ look, it’s 4-1/2″ wide.

The paper is from Best Dressed, which is all floral on one side!  I love the bright, happy colors.  Blackberry is used so much in the winter and fall but it’s nice to see it used here for spring projects, too.

Here is the video from the home office showing this suite up close:

Limited time Coordination products coming Feb 4th!
