I’ll admit it.
When the Stampin’ Up Holiday catalog came out, I was the least excited about another ornament set. I already had a few stored up from past seasons and didn’t think I needed another. I was able to get this one as a host reward for a larger order I had put in (because I bought WAY too much other stuff from the Holiday catty:) and so I got it at a good price. It wasn’t until Brian King asked if I wanted to show some projects using it at his World Card Making Day in Atlanta, GA this past weekend that I even began playing with it a lot.
(side note, FANTASTIC event he and Pam Morris put on for 100 demos! Don’t miss it next year if they repeat it!
So in one creatively fun day, I made 12 things to show using the ornaments. 11 cards, since it was WCMD after all and 1 rebellious non-card.
I thought I’d show one a day for 12 days so here is #1:
A more vintage approach using the SU Brick embossing folder and the Home for Christmas DSP from the Stampin’ Up Holiday catalog. Sponging with Crumb Cake ink helps to dirty it up a little. This one uses just the dies from the set for the ornaments. I cut the circle ornament out of Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow card stock and added a vintage brad.
Hard to tell from the photo but I fussy cut one of the flowers and popped it up on the ornament. I added some of our gold dazzling details and foil gold paper for some holiday glitz.
Here’s my main supplies:
