Stampin’ Up added a new machine to their tools for hot foiling, which is unique to us but has been out for years. I had a foiling gadget for sentiments and stickers (I think it was called Minc) and anything shiny or sparkly, I’m ready to try!

Here are a few things to know before you invest:
Stampin’ Up did not create or invent this system and is not exclusive to us. It is a Spellbinders system and Stampin’ Up has partnered with them to add to our offering. This new foiling system will be also be offered by Spellbinders on their website and works with their die cutting machine also. Stampin’ Up’s core business is to create stamps/dies and foiling is a new way to use their exclusive designs.
The dies needed to hot foil are different than our regular cutting dies! The new foiling dies will not cut paper, although they can emboss designs with your rubbery plates, which is cool.
Spellbinders created this new system to fit their larger die cutting machine (which is basically the same as ours) so you will need to have a machine that has an opening of 6-1/2″ wide- like our current white machine

Many have a BIG SHOT that SU sold years ago and this foiling platform will be about 1/2″ too wide to fit in there. HOWEVER Good news! If you really want to get into foiling, Spellbinders still has their original Glimmer System which is compatible with many machines like the Big Shot with the 6″ opening.
If you are happy with your Big Shot, great! You still have options if you want to get into foiling!
(and some Big Shot machines and other companies have the wider opening so just measure yours to see)
