Pre-Cruise Seattle Day 2

There’s nothing stamping related today to share.  For those that want to read on about our day here in Seattle, sit a spell!  Tomorrow we board the cruise ship to Alaska and there might be some stamping things after our meet and greet in the evening.

I have to say, Seattle is a hummin’ place!  There seems to be more people walking around than driving.  It’s about 6:00 pm here and with Matt taking a snooze behind me and the windows open, I hear lots of commotion outside our hotel.  The breeze is fabulous here!

This morning:  Matt, Jan, Darrell and I woke up early to head down to Pike’s Market for a good bagel breakfast.  Great Tully’s coffee!  Strolled thru the market, smelling flowers and fish!

Speaking of fish, the FISH throwing guys were a blast and if you haven’t seen their motivational video of how they got famous, you can watch a clip  here.  Just a bunch of guys who wanted to bring more fun into work so they started throwing fish to eachother and interacting with customers in a whole new way!

Pike Place Market’s unofficial mascot, Rachel, a bronze cast piggy bank that weighs 550 pounds, has been located since 1986. Rachel was designed by local artist Georgia Gerber and modeled after a pig (also named Rachel) that lived on Whidbey Island and was the 1977 Island County prize-winner. Rachel receives roughly US$6,000–$9,000 annually in just about every type of world currency.   (and I did my part!)

Jan and I saying hello to Rachel the Pig

After we left the market, we took the local transit to a Japanese Garden located within the  Washington Park Arboretum.  A 3 1/2 acre formal garden designed and constructed under the supervision of world-renowned Japanese garden designer Juki Iida in 1960.  Koi fish, bridges and tons of plants and trees I cannot pronounce the names of – breathtaking!

Jan ‘almost’ walking on water!

Yeah, pretty much just want to live here.  I took way too many pictures so I’ll just stop here.

So then we took another ride to the Space Needle to ride up to the top and have lunch.  Really amazing views as I had an incredible salmon lunch:

605 feet in the air and while we were rotating during our lunch, this was one shot from the table.

The 360 observation deck was amazing and the weather was perfect!

Then after that, full and happy, we walked over to EMP museum.   Matt  being a drummer and lover of all music, this place seemed like it would be fun so we took a shot.  Lots of interactive booths with different instruments to play, Nirvana exhibit, Hendrix, and some other displays.

North, To Alaska!

Matt and I are heading to Alaska with Stampin’ Up this week!  I am really excited about this trip.  Colder weather (great for this hot flashin’ woman) and whales and bald eagles and moose and grizzlies…seriously, I’m in danger of becoming a permanent resident.

I’m so grateful to my faithful customers and downline who helped me earn this trip!

I’ll be posting when internet permits and  Stampin’ Up has said we can show our completed make and takes so I’ll be sure to take pics of those.

A few weeks ago I received my travel info and luggage tags from SU.  I always look for clues to upcoming new stamp sets in the design of the wallet:

Ok, over the top cute!  A rubber stamps sewn onto the front cover!

There are 4 of these tags, and the bird is really whimsical…maybe he will be in the new catty in July?

And the inside with the itinerary and things to read on the plane!

On with the wrist bands, the Bonine, and green apples! (i get sea sick but this will be worth it!)

Leavin’ On A Jet Plane…

Well our bags are packed, we’re ready to go… (shout out to the Peter, Paul & Mary fans out there in blogland)

We had our last breakfast in the dining room. Believe it when I say they had the BeST French toast we ever had here in the ship! Not only was it 2″ thick but it was dusted with cinnamon and sugar, too. The ten pounds I lost before leaving have officially found me again.

It took us 20 minutes to say goodbye and then we did it all over again in the lobby. Lots of watery eyes and warm hugs to end to a wonderful vacation. Thanks for tuning in with us! Linda

Stampin’ Up Cruise: Saturday

We ventured into St. Thomas (sunburn and all!) and shopped in the local shops for an hour. It was a pretty place but we were hot and headed back and had fun chatting in the AC.

Stampin’ Up left us one last pillow gift!
it’s muffler for your ears to take on the next incentive trip, which is Alaska-

Stampin’ Up Cruise: Friday Night

Quite the surprise when I went back to my cabin after dinner. SU left us this gorgeous, patent leather teal purse! It has the SU logo and designer paper pattern on the inside, too!

The Midnight Madness Make
& Takes were really great. The stamp set won’t be out until July 1 so
we can’t show what we made yet but I’ll save it for you and post it then. I still hve to finish mine at home- ran out of steam! It was a scrapbook journal using our On Board journals and a cute card using those little buttons in the Summer Mini.

Today we are in our last stop, St. Croix. Honestly, I’m so sunburned from yesterday that I don’t want to go out but I really want to see it!

Hope you find time to stamp today- Linda

Stampin’ Up Cruise Friday

What a day! Gorgeous beach, great friends, lots of laughter and memories. The Waggoners, the Valders, the Burnetts and the Hellers rented a driver to take us to Orient Beach. Quite interesting as the French side is clothing optional…..we opted for clothes in case you were wondering. Hard to say what caught our attention more; the views or the people! Even our SPF of 100 (which Matt calls our Liquid Sweater) was no match for the St. Maarten today! We all are “rose red” and stand a few feet away from each other so to not have accidental bumps into our tender selves.

Matt has been trying to upload pics on his page but with much Internet frustration as it keeps timing out. He will try to upload some G rated photos when it is working better.

As for Stampin’ Up news. the make and takes are actually tonight at midnight (yawn) and IF they let us, I’ll post pics of the projects. The stamp set us really neat and will be the new catalog.

I have spun the prize wheel each day and won some vintage tags, DSP and the stamp set, Chic Boutique!

SU has been giving away Flip video cameras every day! I haven’t won but Denise Jorgensen won yesterday!!
Look closely- it has our designer paper flowers on it witht the SU logo! Lucky girl and how generous that they are giving them away.

Stampin’ Up Cruise: Thursday

Stampin’ Up left a wonderful gift for us last night! This adorable tote. ink pads and new stamp set for our make and takes at midnight tonight!!

Stampin’ Up Cruise: Monday at Sea

Stampin’ Up Cruise: Monday

We’ve been at sea all day, enjoying the rocking back and forth and to and fro…well, at least one of us has been enjoying it and it’s not me! My 1/4 of a Bonine still making me dopey but awake enough to chat with my good friends and attend the general session this morning.
Shelli gave an encouraging message and then Pam Morgan demonstrated a few fun Fiesta projects from the Summer Mini Catalog.

Her parents are celebrating a 60 year wedding anniversary and she created some fun party accessories with the new Sizzix die, Island Floral. She showed us the flower lei and how she decorated the Party Favor Boxes and the drink straws, too!

I’m adding pics by gallery as the internet is touch and go here – just click to enlarge:

I was blown away at the party light strings made from our Party Favor Boxes! Really cute but be sure to use low heat lights.

Look how the  6×6 album is decorated for recipes!

And someone very brave cut the middle out of an  album (might try this when I get home)

Brent demonstrated some football pages with My Digital Studio – will take pics of that later.

Off to dinner and tomorrow we will be in Barbados!

The Big Hello Party

(if reading in your email, be sure to come to the blog to read all of today’s posts). pardon my odd placement of pictures but I’m posting with my phone!

Our ship has sailed and Stampin’ Up threw a party for us called The Big Hello!

Yummy drinks in souvenier glasses with lighted stems, appetizers and friendly faces were everywhere.

Shelli (co-founder and CEO) visited with us and posed for a pic with our supportive husbands. They looked like her bodyguards! The photo of her album was a gift stamped by Jan Wakeland, which is to hold her Simply Adorned inserts -gorgeous!

Off to dinner! so far it is a GREAT vacation!
