Continuing on from yesterday’s post, sharing some lovely cards I received!
More Tea for Two DSP (designer paper) from the Spring Catalog. It won’t be available after May 31 unless SU has some left and it goes on the Clearance rack. This one is from Jan Cramer in NE and it’s simple but so pretty with a little bit of sponging around the edges of the Labels framelit.
Michelle Phillips stamped this card for our team meeting swaps here in Florida. She used ‘This & That’ Epic Day designer paper layered on Pool party and Gumball Green card stocks. Pretty!
Cathy Williams created this card using By The Tide stamp set, which made it into the new SU catty. She added Crystal Effects over the fish to help it pop out a bit.
Another By The Tide stamp set idea: Oh please tell me who did this one! No name on the back and I’ve had it a while. Love love the Parker’s Patterns paper with the lobster!
By the Tide again! This one by Robin Merriman. It looks like she inked a clear block with an aquapainter
and used it to stamp the watercolor paper. I’m guessing but that’s what it looks like to me!
This one is easy to do and stops my customers in their tracks! Everyone asks ‘how’d she do that?” The flower is embossed with white embossing powder on a white card then she sponge rubbed either eggplant or wisteria ink over it.
May is almost over and I have so many beautiful swaps to share with you, I’m going to spread them out over the next 4 days here on the blog. After I came back from Fiji, being gone for 10 days, I was behind quite a bit in all areas! It was the trip of a lifetime and I wouldn’t trade it for anything but golly, that jet lag stuff is some serious business. Matt bounced right back into this time zone but I’ve been so sleepy during the day and wide awake at 4 am!
With May almost over, so is the current Stampin’ Up catalog! There will be a little overlap this year from the retiring catalog and new one, which starts May 31st. The Retiring Stamps will be available until June 3, 2013. Accessories available until June 3rd but until supplies last and some have sold out already. Be sure to check your catalog against the retiring list to be sure you have what you want before they are gone. If you like to shop visually, go to my SU website HERE to see the retiring products.
Here’s some stamping inspiration from some swaps I’ve received in Fiji, the mail or my team get together. (All images copyright Stampin’ Up!)
I wasn’t crazy about this paper in the Spring catalog but them I see this pretty card, and I change my mind! This was stamped by Vickie Kahlandt using the Tea For Two DSP (spring mini, retires May 31) and Stipple Blossoms stamp set, which is carrying over to the new catalog! Love the natural ribbon and the flower in blues.
Rhea Hughes is a talented stamper that I swap with once a month . This cute card is easy to make with the Dress Up Framelits (yes, going into the new catty) and the Tea For Two DSP (retires end of this month) The little vanilla fabric flowers on a roll retire this month also. So sad they didn’t make it into the new catalog and I love dying them with my aquapainter and reinker like Rhea did here in coral.
Clever way to use this stamp set by making it look all ‘bandana’! Flowering Flourishes did make it into the new catalog so we can try this fun technique using a white gel pen. Stamped by Diane Dimich. By the way, that black scalloped ribbon with polka dots is only $4.77 a roll now since it’s retiring! As of now, it’s still available….I’m posting here since the items numbers are hard to find online:

This swap is so awesome! Thank you, Cindy Fodor! The larger than life ants are a little scary like a cheesy horror flick but it’s the stamp scale 🙂 The fire label on the left side is createdwith torn paper and sponging. I love having a great camping card!
Jackie Walker stamped this pretty card for our team meeting swap and landed 1st place in the contest! Here is a close up of the butterfly where she stamped it on the Fan Fair DSP (retiring end of the month) and then layered it on another pattern of the Fan Fair dsp.
The stamp set is one of the Best of 25 Years sets called Best of Butterflies. You can see it HERE
$14.95 # 133345 Clear mount only
I think this one is Carol Gilmore (no last name) If I’m wrong, please let me know! My swaps got a little jumbled up between Fiji and my other swaps but I love this Americana style card. It’s a new stamp set called Simply Stars and you will find it on page 124 of the new SU catty starting May 31st. I just wish we had star punches but I did save mine for such an occasion!
A summery easel card by Patti Sharkey, one of my team here in Florida. That lattice die is carrying over to the new catalog again this year -yippee!
Hi All! I have a few samples to share with you today!
This one is a simple one I did using the new vine folder. That Vine Folder is one of the Sale-a-Bration freebies and is a must have, IMO 🙂 Love the Certainly Celery, Raspberry Ripple combo. The coordinating vine stamp is from the freebie SAB set, Madison Ave. The flower is from Mixed Bunch (annual catty) The greeting is in Espresso and called Perfectly Penned from the annual catalog.
Diane Winter made this swap for me using Wisteria Wonder and the SAB freebie set called Bloomin’ Marvelous. She layered it with Old Olive and white, really snappy!
And this last swap I’m sharing is from Kimberly Allen – love the Pacific Blue and Lime and Baja Breeze combo! She used the stamp set from the Spring catalog called Secret Garden.
AND for the Chuckle – I posted this on our Stamping School Facebook page but I know many of you aren’t on Facebook so this is for you!
Why Paper will never be dead in an electronic age….
Isn’t this the CUTEST little post it note holder? The little post-it is tucked in a pocket. The SU scallop ribbon loops hold the pen. There is a magnet on the back. He’s about 4×4 in size not including the loops and pen.
This was made with our Stampin’ Up fabric by a very talented seamstress/demonstrator on my team, Heidi LaFountaine.
She acquired a pattern and she has an embroidery machine, too. I had asked her to make me several for gifts at the SU Leadership convention in January.
I had so many requests from people who saw it to post her information so they could purchase one.
She cannot sell the template but she can sell the completed owls if you must have one like I did 🙂 I think she is selling them for $5 plus shipping without the magnet on back, pen and post it. With the magnet, pen and post it, I think $10. But you can email her and get the skinny! To request or inquire about getting one, Heidi’s email is heidilala@hotmail.com
I’ve taken a few weeks off from posting. I lost my dad a few weeks ago and even though I knew it would happen one day, it’s always too soon to lose someone we love. I was so touched with the many, beautiful cards mailed to me when my friends heard about his passing. I debated on whether to post some of them here because I didn’t want it to seem like I was promoting product at all. I usually share swaps, my birthday cards and other occasions so this is a natural part of life, too. My hope is that these inspire you with card layouts and sentiments so when a friend loses a loved one and needs a card hug, you will have them on hand. I’m not adding the artist’s name under the pictures this time – hope that is ok with my friends who made the cards. I also received some beautiful store bought cards that I will treasure also. Thank you for sending them to me and the beautiful sentiments inside, also. Linda
I’m taking these with my phone but I figure I may never get them edited and up!
Here’s just a small sampling of some wonderful things on the boards from The display stampers. If You like seeing everything on the displays, try to attend the annual convention in July in Utah! It’s going to be amazing!
Here are a few using that cute ‘patterned occasions’ stamp set from SAB catalog that begins Jan 22nd:
Here are a few from the stamp set “pretty petites”. It’s also a Sale-a-Bration set.
This is a set called “bloomin’ marvelous”
Here are a few from “vintage verses”
This is a stamp set from the spring catalog called “oh, hello”
Here are a few great swaps I received today from my talented team and demo friends:
Linda Goldherz, who is German, stamped this adorable card.
Anyone speak German and can translate?
Dress detail 🙂
Clever Wanda Smith made the dress form into a Stampin’ Up apron!
Debi LaFountaine made this pretty card
By my friend Rhea Hughes from Montana
Guess where we are going tonight? Stampin’ Up is taking the Managers and above to an exclusive night at Harry Potter! Can’t wait and the husbands are going also, so that will be fun. The park closes at 6 so we will have the whole area, rides and food all to ourselves.
I’m in snowy New Hampshire this week with Matt’s wonderful family. It’s just gorgeous here! (and not having to drive or shovel it, I can truly enjoy it from inside the windows) . Eating, napping, Rummikub, eating, digesting, eating…you get the idea. Hey, I even learned a new card game called Spite & Malice! Anyone else play that? It’s fun and I’m surprisingly good at the spite part :0
Before I start posting pics, 3 quick things:
1st Quick thing: If you have purchased Stampin’ Up from me in the past year, you should have already received the new Spring Catalog AND the annual Sale-A-Bration brochure. IF you have not, please email me at lindastamps@cfl.rr.com While I think MOST of the mail arrives on time, I know that some gets lost or eaten by machines. (and husbands interception skills….) If you haven’t seen me for a while or don’t have a current demonstrator and would like to have one mailed to you, email me with your name and mailing address. I cannot post the links to show you or download the catties until Jan 3rd for the Spring and January 22nd for the SAB catty.
2nd quick thing is that SU has added 15 more items to the clearance rack (and is anyone else wondering how much they must have in their ‘closets’ to keep adding these things?!) Here are the 15 additions listed and you can see what’s new HERE

3rd quick thing: Yes, I WILL be offering the DSP & Ribbon samplers for the new catties. I’ll be posting those on January 1st here on the blog.
The last 3 weeks of December have been a whirlwind of last minute classes, orders and helping stampers with their holiday cards. I’m sorry that I haven’t posted these wonderful gift ideas sooner but maybe if you see something you’d like to make, you can save it for next year OR change out the colors for another occasion.
These ideas were from a gift exchange at my demonstrator get together. Over 35 stampers brought one handmade item to pass around as I read the annual stamping elf-left/right- story. It’s always fun to see the gifts pass back and forth and eventually land in their ‘forever’ hands! Here are a few of the favorites:
Sandi Grimes: Altered Wooden Frame
Trish Niedergeses: purse gift card holder
Linda Goldhersz: bulletin board
