Video: Hybrid Embossing Folder!

What is a hybrid embossing folder?
It’s really cool!  Cuts and embossing in ONE pass thru the machine.  Yep.

Watch my video below to see how it works !

It just has so much texture in person!
In my video, I also show how to get a super light tint using your alcohol markers and the color lifter

It’s a different kind of bundle!
The embossing folder AND the dies all in one package!

BLOOM HYBRID EMBOSSING Bundle #155989  $33

The coordinating stamp set is nice, too.
It’s called ART IN BLOOM  $26  #155085
It works with the dies in the dies/folder bundle.

If you want ALL 3…..
there is a bundle (it should be called a Trio:)

Video: 3 Types of Lock Fun Fold Cards

This week I had fun making THREE fun folds, all with one thing in common.
They are Lock Fold cards (or locking folds), which just means they have a closure on the front to keep them closed.

Watch my Video HERE or click the video photo below

The printable Recipe/measurement PDFs are located under each card below

SLIDE & LOCK GATE FOLD CARD

Print Recipe with measurements HERE

The first card is called a Gate Fold Slide & Lock.
Not sure where it originated but I learned it from my talented friend, Cindy Brumbaugh.
(You can see Cindy’s Ice Cream cards Video HERE )

I used the Ornate Garden paper along and added a butterfly from the Butterfly Bijou paper to save time on coloring.
The sliding mechanism is super easy to make and gives a basic gate fold card some extra interest.

ACCORDION LOCK FOLD CARD

This paper is so pretty any way you use it!
It’s from the Fine Art Floral suite and I used the Butterfly Brilliance bundle but you could really
use a heart, a circle, a square….as long as you have the fold down the middle, it works!

I really love this one!  It’s easy to do and really holds the flap down.
I used the Forever Greenery bundle and the soon to be retired Pretty Peacock Cardstock and Ink.

By the way, the Stampin’ Up Annual catalog Retiring List will be out near the end of March!
So if you have the 2019-2021 In Color ink pads and need the re-inkers, I suggest to grab those soon.

Go Stamp Something!

Altered Balsa Wood Box Video

Being a SU Demo, people think I never  go into craft stores but I do sometimes.

Although Stampin’ Up carries a huge catalog of products, they can’t possibly carry it all.

The craft world is MASSIVE, isn’t it?

Sometimes I run into my customers and they hide their baskets behind their back and say “why, what are YOU doing here?!”  LOL

I found these up near the register at a local craft store chain:

DSCN6538

I believe they were $1.00 each, some had snowmen, some had stars.  Just cute little balsa wood boxes, about 3″ wide and 4″ tall.

They just jumped off the shelf and into my cart begging me to adopt them for a makeover.

DSCN6551

I braided the Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine to make more sturdy handles.  I like the way it coordinates with the designer paper that looks woven.

Like I say in the video, you can buy a box quicker than make this BUT why not make it?

It’s fun, you get your craft on, you know you have enough stuff to make 10 of them 🙂 and it feels so GOOD to give something that you made with your own 2 hands.

Supplies From the Holiday catty:

Festival of Prints paper stack (page 20), hot glue gun and silicone pad (page 31), Champagne Glimmer paper (page 18), Sanding Blocks (page 6)

From the main catalog:  Vintage faceted buttons (page 176), Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding (page 172),

Jumbo Pearls (page 175)  glue and paintbrush, Lucky Limeade card stock 1-1/2″ x 10-3/4 for lolly and scored every 1/4″.  (go 11-3/4″ for a fuller lolly)
.

So go get your craft on!

Button Buddies: Tic Tac Button Pack Snail

For those just tuning in, I’m posting a series from the stamp set Button Buddies (from the new Stampin’ Up! Idea Book & Catalog)  It’s a really  cute and versatile set!  Scroll down to the posts below to see more ideas.

Here is a fun way to give buttons as a “love ya” or a hostess gift.  I love Tic Tacs so saving the containers and going green is a plus plus for me!  I call them Tic Tac Button Packs and here is a post making one (with a video) 3 years ago .    The snail and flower from Button Buddies was perfect to jazz up the front!

I used  the new Berry Blossoms DSP (front and back) , Early Espresso Ink, Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder ink.  I stamped the flower 2x , cut out the inner part to glitter and pop up, adding our new polka dot brad.

Buttons: Flirtatious Doilies

created by Linda Heller

If you haven’t seen the new Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series paper from Stampin’ Up, it has 2 cool sheets of laser cut doilies in there!  One is Melon Mambo and one is Pumpkin Pie.  BUT my favorite side of those is the other side, which is white.  I cut them apart and use them as accents or focal points like the quick and easy note cards above.

Video here:

Tune in tomorrow when I’ll use one as a snowflake for a cute button snowman!  Linda

This is a mini album folded from a 12×12 piece of cs and is about 3″ x 4″ when closed (I’ll be doing this for Stamping School, it was a neat lil project!)  It has a belly band around the album to hold it together.  It’s a cute stamp set and I’ll post a few more samples with that set later.

Sweet Summer Stampin’ Up! Video

Hi stampin’ friends!

Sale-A-Bration time keeps me hopping as a demonstrator (which is WONDERFUL and thank you to my customers and hostesses who have made this a fun season, too!).   Other than videos for Stamping School, I haven’t had time to post more swaps or projects here on the blog so  I’m adding a video by Carrie Cudney from Stampin’ Up!  Carrie is showing how to watercolor one of the free SAB stamp sets called Sweet Summer.  Thanks to SU for sharing what they love, too!
