Video: Sparkle of the Season 3 Ways

This is really a fun, all occasion bundle!
The leaves, the 3 wreaths, the little pumpkin and sentiments make it a great value for someone who needs a multi-holiday set!

Sparkle of the Season Bundle  #156765  $45.75
in the holiday July-Dec Mini Catalog

The first project I made was Halloween, and altho I don’t send many out each year I do have a few friends that LOVE it!
(I do love dressing up for costume parties at Halloween)
I really liked the black glitter paper wreath:

The owl was fussy cut from the Blackberry Beauty designer paper:

I wish you could see how gorgeous this paper is!

For my 2nd Project, I went with fall/Thanksgiving theme with a little Cinnamon Cider color added in:

Basic Borders Dies #15558  $29
These are in the Annual Stampin’ Up Catalog and I think will be handy to have.

For the 3rd project I made a 5×5 card, altho it could be easily converted to a standard sized card.
(thank you Steph for my little red bird!)

It’s hard to see the pretty detail with white on white, but here is a close-up:

Video: Whimsical Trees Suite

If it says Whimsy or Whimsical in the title, I’m probably gonna buy it.
I don’t know why I’ve always had a thing for quirky, non traditional decor and stamps.
This cute bundle isn’t too far out of the box but I do like the little skinny trees and all fun font.

I seem to get a request each year from someone who wants FLAT but CUTE holiday cards to send!
I think this one works well to mail and is pretty easy to do.  You could sub stamping on white for the greeting instead of embossing but you know what I say, if you emboss it means you love them a little bit more:)

Here is my video showing the whole suite and the project:

Video: Christmas Pinecone Dies

Hi All!

Before my post, just a reminder to sign up for my paper, ribbon and accessories shares for the new catalog that begins Aug 3rd!
If you missed that post, here is the link to read all about it!  (it will open in a new tab)

It was SO hot here in the mountains this week so I cooled off with some winter cards.  With the upcoming release of the new Holiday catalog August 3rd, I’ve been starting to feel a little bit nostalgic for snowy pine cones and egg nog.  I’m always ready for eggnog, even in August:) This week I used a new bundle called Christmas to Remember.  It’s on page 19 of the upcoming Holiday mini catalog.

Here is the video below and below the video is the link to my Recipe PDF if you’d like to print it

This one might be my favorite!   Coloring just the white cardstock with my Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.
I layered onto Pool Party Cardstock and that went on a thick white card.  You can use a sponge dauber and ink pad, watch my tip for how to spread the ink evenly.
I love a striped ribbon and there’s a new one in pool party in the new mini catalog.

A little rustic with the Espresso/soft suede pine cones and dark spruce pine needles but adding some of the brushed gold in the label makes it feel a little more festive.

One of my favorite color combos for the winter is Bermuda Bay, White & Silver.
It just feels crisp and cool.

I will update the shopping links on Aug 3rd when this new bundle goes live for ordering!
For now, here are some of the Stampin’ Up products used for my 3 cards:

Video: Cloche Shaker Card and Sale a Bration Share & Show

This week I had a request from Barbara who said
“how can I made the cute shaker card on page 4 of the new Sale a Bration catalog?
I don’t have a die cutting machine”

In the Stampin’ Up Holiday catalog, there are new shaker domes called Cloche Shaker Domes.
There are also a few new stamp sets that coordinate with them, one for sweets and the other a winter set.
(Both the Holiday catalog and Sale-a-Bration start August 3rd!)

So the challenge for many who are just stepping in to stamping and do not have a die cutting machine yet, how to use the domes without the dies?  Or maybe you don’t want the whole bundle but love the Dome shakers.
Here is a work around….the dies are much easier and perfectly cut out BUT in a pinch, it can work!

The Penguin Playmates designer paper will be free with a $50 order beginning Aug 3rd!   It’s really cute and some of the images coordinate with the Penguin builder punch.  Easy to fussy cut the rest like I did on the inside of the card here.

I’ll be back on Monday with my Holiday Product Shares I’ll be offering!

Video: Give it a Whirl Cards

This week I played around with an interactive die called Give it a Whirl!
It’s quite easy to use but of course I had to make it harder by going in landscape position but I really like how it came out.
In my video I show some ways to make it spin better and also a bonus card as a gift card holder…

I was wrong in my video, the dies are not paired with or bundled with the Stellar Birthday – they are just shown in use on that page.
I think the dies are perfect on their own of course for a variety of cards!

Video: Pinwheel Tower Cards

Hi all!    Someone requested this fun fold and it IS fun to make!
It’s called a Pinwheel Tower Card (or Tower Pinwheel)
It looked complicated but it really was easy to create them in multiple sizes.

(I think I over-explained it a bit in my video but Matt said to go with it, better than Under-explaining LOL)

(There are 3 pages to this PDF)

Here the other samples I showed in my video:

Here is the A2 Sized Pinwheel Tower Card, which folds flat to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.
I used the Tidings of Christmas 6×6 Designer paper from the Stampin’ up Annual Catalog.
The column is 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″, scored at 1″, 2″ 3″ and 4″.
The 4 panels are all 2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″ each.

and here is the smallest one:

This is the Note Card Sized Pinwheel Tower Card, which folds flat to 3-1/2″ x 5″
I used the Sweet Symmetry Designer paper from the Stampin’ up Annual Catalog.  The stamp set is called Biggest Wish.
The column is 3-1/2″ tall x 4-1/2″ wide, scored at 1″, 2″ 3″ and 4″.
The 4 panels are all 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ each.

I hope you give this fun fold a try!

Video: Using the In Color Shimmer Vellum

Hi All!

I had a request this week from Maria in Nebraska to come up with some projects using the new In Color Shimmer Vellum.
It’s fun to get a request to give me a little push using something new and play a bit!  (and little old school with some dry embossing with a stylus on the vellum brought back great memories)

Look at all that shimmer on the vellum!  It really is pretty, embossed or just plain.

Here’s my video this week using the shimmery vellum 2 ways and also a little Show & Share of some old vellum projects I found.
The recipe PDF Link for both cards is under the video

Video: Triangle Accent Layout

Someone asked me the other day about the Stitched Triangle dies and how much I used them.  Honestly, I hadn’t used them since I tried the Arrow Fold card with the goats (you can see that video HERE)

but then…

I needed an ‘anchor’ for some simpler, easy card layouts.  Of course I love a fun fold and cards that can do a back flip but there are times like this week I needed nice cards but not so involved it took days to get them done.
So the Triangle dies came to mind and I ended up really having fun with them.
(Watch the video for how to easily make without the dies also)

Here are the Triangle dies – there was a coordinating stamp set last year for them but it retired. Really they are great on their own for quilt cards and just an accent piece like I used them.

This one sent to me by Trish N:)
