This week I used the Rectangle Postage punch for the first time.
I’ve had it since it came out and I kept forgetting about it!
I had a request for the Festive Post stamp set so I combined the two.
It’s a handy punch that coordinates with the Festive Post stamp set
in the Stampin’ Up Holiday catalog:
Here’s a fun way to add a little variety to the punch and change the size up a bit!
I added a few die cut snowflakes for some wintery accents.
Watch the video below to see how easy it is to change the size of windows.
View the video by clicking on the photo below:
By the Way, this postage punch also is a bundle in the annual catalog
so if you have the punch, think about this set also since it coordinates so well:
I’ve been off my blog for a while, catching up on mailing new catalogs and my paper, ribbon and accessory shares. This year I didn’t have a crew helping me so I’ve been hustlin’ to get them all out and I’m done:) Thanks to all who participated again this year!
With doing my 2 videos a week for Stamping School and all the new catty business, my card sending was WAY behind so I ordered one of the new kits from the new Stampin’ Up annual catalog:
It’s called Gorgeous Posies and it really IS gorgeous! (The photo below is from SU)
In literally 10 minutes, I had 4 cards done! So much prettier in person, as most things are but here they are:
The $32 kit comes with supplies to make 16 full sized cards, envelopes and ribbon/twine. And it also has the pretty box to put them all in if you want to give it as a gift (or a gift to you!)
For ink pads, the kit recommends 4 of the purples but you really only need BlackBerry Bliss to stamp the sentiments – it goes with all the designs. The sentiments are all the stamping needed- all the rest of the work is already done!
There is a stamp set you can buy separately but you really don’t need it if you have other sentiment stamps on hand. It is $19 (see pic below)
The first time I saw this set, I was reminded of a music box I had as a young girl. It was shiny black, pearl flowers and when I opened it, there was a dancer in a pink dress that popped up and twirled to the music.
It’s a larger card, 5×5, so I made a coordinating envelope from the Pop Of Pink designer paper from Stampin’ Up and the Envelope punch board.
I needed a circle big enough for my window so I used my Sliding Star framelit, since it cut a 3-1/2″ hole. I layered the DSP on the card stock first, then cut the hole.
I aligned the cut hole over my card, traced my circle and then cut the same size hole in the card.
I added some twine with Tear Tape (strong tape!) and attached 2 stamped circles (about 3-1/4′ size) to each side of the twine string.
For her pink dress, I stamped her on the Pop Of Pink paper and fussy cut her out by hand then glued her dress and hat onto the stamped image.
This week I was playing around with the new 3 step butterflies, called Watercolor Wings (page 75 of new SU annual catalog) I used just the one stamp you see top right in the photo below on the vellum card stock then cut out with the coordinating framelits (page 172)
I crack up at how we all say “I already have butterfly stamps” and then we buy another one! Must be like owning 3 pairs of black shoes that all do the same thing, just a little bit different for the perfect outfit.
I used the new Metallic Thread for his ‘antlers’ (page 159). I thought it would be heavier but it’s like a fine hair, super strong but very light.
There is a new embossing folder called Elegant Dots. (page 174, 6th one over) It’s classy and has a tight pattern that balances the large butterfly. I used the new heavy Whisper white card and it’s really nice! We really really needed a heavy white stock for white cards. (see page 149)
I used the new Expressions Natural Elements, which are wood veneer words (see page 160)
They come natural but I versamarked them and added gold embossing powder. The first word I snapped in half as I pressed it into my versamark pad…don’t do that:) Instead use a sponge dauber or tap the ink pad on top of the words, then powder and heat!
Since I’m using it as a wedding card, I added an embossed greeting inside to make it more special. See the new framelits? They are called Lots of Labels on page 173. I used a larger one on the front of the card to put all the elements on.
New also this year are gold/silver foil doilies!
Shiny and bright, sturdy and both colors come in one pack with different sizes in the package. (page 148 at bottom)

Great deal on the Pansy Punch if you don’t own it yet! And the satin ribbon I used on the card above it on sale, that’s convenient!
Thanks to Wanda at Mojo Monday, who created this sketch:
I didn’t like the star above so I tucked it under. I kinda like the Hello Honey, Real Red and Indigo combination. I hadn’t used that new ribbon yet (heavy, almost like an upholstery trim) and wanted to go more primary with the colors.
It’s nice to get a little somethin’ for spending with me!
As a thank you, anyone placing an online order with me will get the card kit in the mail to make this card. We aren’t allowed to include stamped images but you can easily swap those out for your own. All the cutting and embossing is done for you! If you have ordered this week already, you are on the list!
(locals, we are making this card this week so no need to place an online order if I’m seeing you)
In a few days, we will say goodbye to 2014 and the Holiday catalogs, which end on January 5th
and say hello to 2015 with the new SU Occasions and Sale-a-Bration Catalogs!
If you haven’t rec’d yours in the mail from me and you were expecting one, please email me. You should have received both by now but they do get lost sometimes. I cannot post the digital copies here until they go live on January 6th but I’m happy to mail you one if you do not have an SU demo.
If you look on page 49 of the Occasions catalog, you will see some items carrying over. (some have an * and are while supplies last so be sure to check that)
Some of my favorites NOT carrying over (altho SU could surprise us and put them in the next annual catty) are these gems below. If you want to add them to your collection by January 5th, call or email or order them online quickly! There are more things not carrying over in the catalog, but these were my favorites that I’m sad to see go:
I added the stars stamp set because they are photopolymer and they go inside the star framelits so nicely.
The Trim the Tree paper stack is a really nice traditional Cherry/Green patterned paper and for only 4.19.
Under the Tree specialty paper is a thick, card stock like patterned paper perfect for boxes. It’s kraft/white print on one side and espresso or cherry or garden green prints on the other side.
The card kits are really super for only 3.99! You get 8 cards, envelopes and liners, buttons, twine and the cut banner to create whatever you want for your holiday cards next year. Add any greeting or tree or ornament stamp and it’s all cut for you!
Everything is ‘while supplies last’ so don’t wait too long.

Blendabilities are a BIG Hit!

Those of you I’m seeing this week, you will get yours in person.
“PIN-spired”
In the wee hours, if I find the Ipad on my nightstand, I might visit Pinterest. If I’m feeling unorganized, there’s a million ways to solve any problem. If I’m feeling plump that day, I may look for healthy recipes. If I’m feeling lonely, I look at boston terrier puppies….Pinterest is the fix for just about mood 🙂
Sometimes I look through the stamping and papercrafting, save a few for inspiration.
Sadly, this one had no name or watermark on it, as it often happens on Pinterest. I loved the color combo of Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler and So Saffron. We don’t have the eyelets or that stamp anymore, but I made my own version of it.
Here’s my “PIN-spired” version:
I used the stamp set in the Occasions catalog called So Very Grateful, which will not be carrying over into the new catty so if you want it, get it before June 1st.
16.95 Clear Mount, # 133053
Pansy Punch for the flower, Bird Builder punch for the leaves. We have a super cool new DSP coming out in the new catty called Typeset – thin newsprinty paper that will be SO useful for lots of projects.
Thank you for the inspiration, wherever you are!
