This week I played with the gold hoops from the Stampin’ Up annual catalog.
I thought they’d make a sweet little ornament so I added it to a card.
It can easily come off the card since it’s hanging on a brad:
The Poinsettia dies with the red velvet paper really makes a nicely textured flower
altho I had a hard time getting a good pic of it!
(Watch the video below for a better look)
Coming out January 5th in the new Stampin’ Up Occasions catalog, you will see great new accessories, stamps and papers! One of the suites is called It’s My Party, which is full of birthday selections.
The card above is using a new Big Shot accessory called Party Pop Up Thinlits Dies. There’s coordinating papers and stamp set in the suite also.
For the front of the card, I used the Happy Birthday pop up as a flat die cut greeting.
Watch my video below for tips using the new dies that can cut along a center fold to make a pop up! This is one of the videos this week on my video website, Stamping School along with 2 other exclusive videos. For those that like measurements and recipes, you can print that HERE. My ordering customers and team always get Stamping School free!
The new Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs should be arriving to my customers by the end of this week! If you do not have a demonstrator yet and would like these, email me with your mailing address and I will send you both!
I can post the Stampin’ Up Holiday Catalog in it’s entirety and you can order your holiday goodies! I would suggest getting orders in to me quickly. Stampin’ Up has been working on processes to prevent back orders but I’m a little skittish and would rather get ’em in before the rush! I’ve already been getting calls and emails today with pre-orders so it’s not too early if you are ready to shop.
If you didn’t receive your Holiday Catalog in the mail from me and were expecting one, please email me. If you need one and do not have a demonstrator already, email me here and I will mail you a copy.
One of my top picks for the Holiday catalog is the Hearth & Home Framelits
And look at the adorable photopolymer stamp set you must have to go with it!
I thought I’d use it for something other than a wintery window so I decided to make an interior kitchen window with an herb garden.
I love how it turned out! I was chatting on the phone one evening with my bestie, Jan, and somehow it evolved into this. I guess I do my best stamping with friends:)
I stamped and cut out a little watering can from the set for the inside:
Here is a video showing how to create the project with punch art herbs:
Even though I told myself I had enough leaves on hand, this new one is a little folk-art quirky. It’s a bit different from what I had so I put it on my list. It’s called Lighthearted Leaves and will be available soon to all, Sept 1, in the Stampin’ Up Holiday Catalog. (side note: If you have purchased from me this year, you automatically are on my list to receive one and I hear they are beginning to arrive to mailboxes! If you aren’t sure if you are on my list or want to be added to receive one, email me and I’ll get you one.)
I love that it coordinates with the leaflets framelits in the annual catalog, too!
I love using the white gel pen on Sahara Sand – so crisp and snappy. I did a video for this one and if you are one of my members of Stamping School, there are 2 other videos this week using this cute stamp set.

Stampin’ Up home office did a quick video on stamping with embossing folders. I remember Carrie Cudney from SU doing a great demo using this technique back in 2012 at convention and I made her card using the stamped folder technique. You can see the delicate design of the Vintage Wallpaper folder (this was from 2012, so it’s retired now) stamped in Crumb Cake ink on the Vanilla card stock:
(The embossed area is called Faux Patina which I did as a Stamping School video. So if you are on there, search for Faux Patina)
Here’s the SU home office video for Folder Stamping. If you are viewing this post from your email you may need to come to the blog HERE to view:
Grab some ink and a folder to try it out!
Big or small, FREE shipping on it ALL!
Stampin’ Up shipping is 10% if the order is 69.95 or more or a minimum 6.95 if under that amount. We all know how much it costs to mail things today and so when a company offers free shipping, it’s a big deal!
Send a small $5 gift to a friend or buy yourself something big and save a bunch! Either way, it’s a nice treat until April 10th!
Get those 2013-2015 reinkers that are going out this year! see my post HERE about those colors retiring.
Speaking of retiring…I cannot believe we only have 2 more months until we have a new catalog!
The Stampin’ Up annual catalog Retiring List comes out April 21st! I’ll post that here as soon as I get it.
I wonder if Lovely as a Tree will stay in another year?
With the new catalog coming, I’d like to get an idea who needs a new catalog! I’ll have one set aside for all my regular customers from this past year but fill out the form so I can be sure I have correct addresses.
(If you are a current SU demonstrator or are currently purchasing through another demo, contact them for your catalog.)
The contact form below may not work for all users so if it’s wonky, just email your name and address to Linda@stampingschool.com
Along with the free shipping until Friday the 10th, we have some specials!
Remember a few days ago I told you about the 4 new Sale-a-bration freebies that Stampin’ Up is adding for March?
I did a quick show & tell video so you can see those ‘in person’.
Pardon the HUGE bruise on my hand, I tried to cover it up but it’s determined to make an appearance. I have small veins apparently and had some IV issues during a recent eye surgery (yes, I’m seeing better!)
The new printed vellum is really pretty, isn’t it?
Whether you color it with markers or dry emboss it or just leave it on its own, it’s my favorite SAB item this year.
If you’d like a recipe sheet with measurements for these 2 cards, Click HERE
Click HERE to download the Flyer to print and view 4 new freebies
If you would like one or all of these new freebies, they are available until March 31st!
Choose 1 free with every $50 Stampin’ Up order from annual catalog, online Clearance rack or Occasions catalog.
I was playing around with the new Sale-A-Bration paper called Irresistibly Yours and found that when I stamped first, then brayered it, I loved it more!
Here’s a video I made for you showing how I did it:
Here is my project I made with the top pattern. I’ll be posting another one on Stamping School this coming weekend using the Olive vines, so if you are a member there be sure to watch for it.
I love the new wedding suite in the Occasions catalog! The stamp set is called Your Perfect Day and it’s available in wood, clear mount AND photopolymer! There is a background set in there also called Something Lacy that I used. The Irresistibly Yours 12×12 paper is free with a $50 order during Sale a Bration (now thru March 31st, 2015)
Here is a video using the same paper from the SU home office about how to sponge it, spritz or color it with markers
New Photopolymer Set!
This one is called an Angel Policy set because of the little copyright Stampin’ Up at the bottom of each one. For those that want to sell your handmade cards in a store or online, these are required by SU to be stamped on the back.
Of course these are just ADORABLE for everyday creations! Look at the snail mail and the yarn for knitters….I’m ordering one now! Who’s with me?
