The Holiday catalog is LIVE and available to order from!  If you have ordered from me in the past year, you should have received one in the mail.  They do get lost or thrown out by husbands 🙂 so if you have not received yours, please email me with your name and mailing address so I can mail you one!  If you don’t have a demonstrator currently and would like one, you can request one HERE Please add your mailing address in the comments.

See the catalog come to life!  See page 5 of Holiday catalog for details.  You can download the free app called LAYAR in your APP store  or Google Play.  When you see the red icon in the catalog, scan the catalog page and it unlocks a special video showing you more about that product!  (for me, I had to touch my screen when I saw a video come up then it played)   If you don’t have a mobile device, you can visit www.stampinup.com/showmehow

I’m over the top excited for these new THINLITS card dies!  They’ve been called flip cards, flip flop cards, swing cards, and more-but they have always been a bit tricky to create. Not anymore! Our amazing new Thinlits Card Dies cut and score to create a card that flips in just one step. 2 sets to choose from, Label (on left below) and Circle, on right:

These new card dies come with extra die pieces that have versatile designs, so you can use them on other projects, not just flip cards. (The Circle Card Thinlits Die comes with 10 total pieces; the Label Card Thinlits Die comes with nine total pieces.)

Want to see it in action? I’m ordering mine today but SU has a video already for us!

There is great coordinating stamp and measurements info on the Flyer. Click HERE to download it!

Some love the convenience of having the surprise projects come in the mail every month. Some don’t like that they can’t see what is coming ahead of time!  Advanced crafters will most likely think they are too simple while some love that they can just whip up a few things easily.  It’s not for everyone but it’s worth a try and you can cancel the membership if you don’t like it.

Button Buddies: Snail Mail

created by LInda Heller

I love this little guy!  I’m usually late with my birthday cards as my friends know so I should make a whole bunch of ’em!

He is from the Button Buddies stamp set (Stampin’ Up! of course) and the DSP is called Berry Blossoms and is fresh with Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral.

Don’t forget!   All 10.95 Designer Paper is on sale buy 3, Get one free!  Call, email or place your orders online by the end of the month to get in on this deal!

Button Buddies: Tic Tac Button Pack Snail

For those just tuning in, I’m posting a series from the stamp set Button Buddies (from the new Stampin’ Up! Idea Book & Catalog)  It’s a really  cute and versatile set!  Scroll down to the posts below to see more ideas.

Here is a fun way to give buttons as a “love ya” or a hostess gift.  I love Tic Tacs so saving the containers and going green is a plus plus for me!  I call them Tic Tac Button Packs and here is a post making one (with a video) 3 years ago .    The snail and flower from Button Buddies was perfect to jazz up the front!

I used  the new Berry Blossoms DSP (front and back) , Early Espresso Ink, Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder ink.  I stamped the flower 2x , cut out the inner part to glitter and pop up, adding our new polka dot brad.

Video: Acrylic Block Sizing Templates

(if viewing from your email, you may need to come to the blog to view videos)

At the beginning of January, I told you about Stampin’ Up’s new option to mount  rubber stamps.   They are not getting rid of the wood blocks but offering another option for those that prefer the space saving solution of clear blocks.  We are not selling clear stamps but rather a clever way to mount the rubber temporarily to a clear block and then remove to store in a slim, DVD type cases.   SU will be offering the new clear mounts and well as wood mounted for all new stamps coming out.

So after having a workshop recently and lugging all 9 clear blocks along so my customers could decide which size works the best for the stamp set they are considering,  I realized I do not want to bring them all with me each time!

All the sizes for the blocks are listed on page 6 of the Occasions Mini Catalog.    I grabbed some clear Window Sheets (or you can use transparencies I guess, as long as they are sturdy) and cut all 9 sizes and wrote the letter with a Sharpie then put them on a key ring.  This way I can take them to events or have them at my classes and customers can just hold them over images in the catalog to help purchase the right size!

See a quick video:

And in case you missed it, here is a quick video for how to put our new rubber stamps on the clear blocks:

Stampbusters Episode 1: Flossing?

Have you seen Mythbusters on the Discovery Channel?  Jamie, Adam and a fearless team test myths to see if they are really real or fiction.

Sometimes I read stamping tips and wonder if they really work or not.  I recently read that using Dental Floss will remove pictures that were glued to pages in a photo album.  So I thought I would test it to see if it could take up our stuck on Designer papers and card stocks.  (Doesn’t that just burn your britches when you try to loosen a crooked piece of paper and it ruins your entire project?!)

So, could it be true?  Here are the questions I wanted answers to:

1. Will floss loosen thin designer paper AND leave it dent free and like new to use again?

2.  Will it loosen adhesive that has been stuck on and cured for over a year?

3.  Will it work to loosen all types of adhesives?

Here is the video of my findings:

Unlike the myths they bust on the show, you CAN try these techniques at home!

*7 out of 10 stampers recommend mint flossing your cards daily

Next  time I’ll put blender pen refill recipes to the test! Do they really work as well as a new blender pen or is it a waste of time?
