Founders Circle Swaps Part One

Here are the first batch of the fab swaps from the Stampin Up Founders Circle retreat!!  I was so excited to swap with 125 talented stampers.  I delayed in posting some of them until today because I had a Demonstrator get together with my downline yesterday and I wanted them to be a surprise!

By the way, if  you received a wacky post in  your email feed yesterday, I apologize.  I was playing with an electronic signature for my blog and it created a post without my knowledge!  Anyway, life in blogdom is sometimes unpredictable.

Love the colors, love the stylishious bow and it says Create…how perfect!

Shoebox Swap Pics

Oh my gosh!  I cannot believe it’s been 10 days since I have posted.  Bad blogger..  We are in full swing of our house renovation and it is really a mess around here!  I naively thought I wouldn’t get caught up in it, could just carry on my stamping way.   I didn’t exactly calculate it all out in my head for the packing, the moving, the cramming, the stuffing and the people everywhere!  Matt and I have an old 1960 house that is going to the beauty shop and getting a makeover.   We are also expanding a room for a new stamp room!  Very exciting and I will be able to say goodbye to the unpredictable facility rentals and have some stamping events here at home.   If you want to see how our progress is going, Matt is updating his page here on the blog.

Our FL group had a fun time stamping recently and we had a shoebox swap.  Here are some of my favorites:  (p.s.  I ask them to note on the back of the card if it was cased or inspired by another stamper.  If they forgot or didn’t know, I’m sorry and just let me know it was your original design and I’ll edit the entry. )

August Swaps Part One

These are some of my favorite swaps I received over the last 2 months.   Most are created by a talented group of stampers out of state and we swap monthly.  (Thank you, Rhea for organizing us each month!)  I love getting them in the mail!

Aug 2009 swaps 024

Stamped by Sharon Burkert.  The cute stamp set is from the Holiday Mini catalog (avail Sept 1) called Twick or Tweet. The Basic Grey card stock background is stamped with the coordinating wheel called Haunting Hill.  Don’t you love the wide striped ribbon?  It is 1-1/4″, 10 yards for 8.95 in 4 colors.  See them all here

Copy (2) of Aug 2009 swaps 025

Look at the fun detail!  She used Stampin’ Up new designer paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog called Night & Day.  It has the cool houndstooth design she used for the bird. She cut out the pumpkin treat basket and used Crystal Effects on it for the glossy shine.

Copy of Aug 2009 swaps 013

This is such a cool card!  Stamped by Carol Gilmore.  The frayed black grosgrain ribbon adds the right pirate feel and the skull is stamped on black card stock with white pigment ink.  The stamp set is Pirate Time (also can be part of tteh Pirate Party Kit)  The black card stock is cut at the bottom and layered on red card stock .

More tomorrow! C’mon back or sign up for automatic udates here!

Orders can be placed anytime on my Stampin’ Up! Website here or just call or email me if you prefer not to order over the internet.  US orders only.

New Swaps…

I received these lovely swaps a few weeks ago from a talented group of stampers I swap ideas with and thought I’d share a few…

Stamped by Denice Marshall. All Supplies Copyright Stampin' Up!

Stamped by Denice Marshall. All Supplies Copyright Stampin' Up!

This one is made using the Stampin’ Up level 1 hostess set, God’s Beauty.  Denice used Pale Plum as the card base, then added a layer of Perfect Plum card stock.  She Sizzix’d up the card with Frame Oval Scallop and our exclusive Little Leaves sizzlit.  So pretty!

Stamped by Rhea Hughes. All Supplies Copyright Stampin' Up!

Rhea always does such elegant cards.  The main card is Kraft (which I need to use more of – love it)  Basic Black card stock on top, a little bit of white punched with our new Eyelet Border punch.  Urban Oasis DSP on the bottom stamped in Kiwi with the Fifth Ave Floral set.  The Kraft Taffeta ribbon ties it all together!

Stamped by Mary Ammar. All Supplies Copyright Stampin' Up!

It’s hard to see here, but the main card is Vanilla and then layered with a Sahara Sand embossed card stock layer.  Then the eyelet border punched in Chocolate Chip, a strip of Olive Patterns DSP.  The stamp set is Thoughts and Prayers, set of 8 on page 58 of the big catalog.  It is the perfect set for sympathy and get well sentiments.

Stamped by Mary Hall. All Supplies Copyright Stampin' Up!

Mary stamped the flower on shimmer white card stock.  The flower is from “Wonderful Watercolors” and I didn’t even know it was in the big catalog!  She started with a Basic Black card, added a white layer, then another black layer card stock. The blue paper is lighter than it appears here and is from the Parisian Breeze Specialty DSP.   I love how she tied 2 white organza ribbons around the card for an extra special touch!

Stampin’ Up Swaps- Hawaii

What a day!  I feel like we have lived through 3 full days in just one! It is only 8 pm here and my body is still on Florida time, 2:30 am.  This zone difference must take a while to get used to!  We left this morning at 7:00 am and just got back.  We’ll post pics tomorrow of our exciting day on the zip lines!

For those of you tuning in to see what happened on the Stampin’ Up scene, here are 2 gifts we received today:

hawaii-tuesday-zip-mtakes-214

Believe it or not, THIS cool box holds our make and take supplies!  On these trips, we don’t stamp all week as some might think.  It is truly a vacation and although we might meet up with friends to  brainstorm business ideas, there isn’t a whole lotta stampin’ going on.  There is an open house of sorts set up for us to go in and stamp our make & takes when we have time.

This was all the goodies inside: (except for the new stamp set which I can’t show you but I really, really like it)

hawaii-tuesday-zip-mtakes-217

Then we got back to our room to find this on our bed:

hawaii-tuesday-zip-mtakes-220

It is a gift wrapped up in tea leaves!

hawaii-tuesday-zip-mtakes-222 hawaii-tuesday-zip-mtakes-224

I don’t think I showed you our shirts and bags, did I?  I was SO exhausted last night I crashed.

hawaii-tuesday-zip-mtakes-0032

Red for girls, Black / Khaki for guys.  there is a fun Stampin’ Up logo on the sleeve

The tote bag matches the wallet that was mailed to us before we left:

And Matt got one, too!

The displays went up today with samples that were submitted by Stampin’ Up and demonstrator acheivers here on the trip.  I wish the artist name was displayed along with the sample, but they aren’t.  If you recognize your artwork, just email me and I will put your name on it!

(ps – I did update the pics in the post below with the display pictures!)

For time and space issues, I am uploading as a gallery.  Click on the pic to see it in all it’s glory, full size!  I don’t have time now to show the stamp set names and details, but enjoy!

One for me, one for Matt!

Swaps and Kleenex Invasion

I’ve had a raging cold all week long, thanks in part to my wonderful husband who had a cold last week altho it wasn’t his intention to give it to me so I can’t be too mad. I have carried around a box of Kleenex under one arm from room to room for the last 3 days.  The highlight of my week was receiving my swaps back from my monthly swap group of talented stampers and I thought I’d share:

mary-hall

Stamped by Mary Hall.  I loved the colors – Black and Not Quite Navy, and the way she used the Top Note Sizzix Die and cut it in half.

I’ll continue with my Stampbuster video series in a few days when I’m not held hostage in the Nyquil, Dayquil, Nyquil cycle.

Stay healthy,

Linda

Founder’s Circle Swaps Part 4

So here is the rest of my Founder’s circle holiday swap!  I think I counted 23 “Snow Swirled” samples!   If you see DSP, that means Designer Series Paper 12 x 12, and cs = cardstock.

All Images copyright Stampin’ Up!

Stamped by Karen Duke.  One of my favorites! The stamp set is “Sleigh Bells Ring” and she used the Polished Stone technique on glossy paper with Bashful Blue and Silver Encore. The base of the card is Night of Navy.  There is a bit of glitter, too!

Stamped by Denise Johnson.  Stamp set is “Scandinavian Season” embossed in gold on Kraft cs and mounted on Real Red, Old Olive, Ski Slope DSP.  Sizzix Top Note Die and Key Tab punch.  There’s a mini glue dot with chunky red glitter in the flower.

Stamped by Connie Fitzgerald.  I love that she used ‘out of the color box’ colors!  So Saffron, Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze.   She stamped the snowflakes in white ink.

Stamped by Erika Schmitz.  “Snow Swirled” Vanilla, Kiwi, Pink Pirouette cs and inks.

stacie clark

Stamped by Stacie Clark.  “Snow Swirled” stamp set.  Holiday Treasures DSP, Riding Hood Red, White and Celery cs.  She embossed the tree in white and then it looks like she rubbed Versamark in over the tree with a sponge dauber to darken the inside of tree.  Clever!

rebecca bernzweig

Stamped by  Rebecca Bernzweig. I think she used Versamark ink and pastels with a dauber to rub the colors on the tree after she stamped it.  Mini glue dots are stuck on the tree and glittered.  Hard to see here but there are also little dry embossed dots on the white cs she made with the Crop-a-dile.

denise jorgensen

Stamped by Denise Jorgensen.  A few of my samples ran into a cup of coffee (they should have been more careful hee hee) and this pretty card was one of them.  I can’t be sure of the colors now with the pic but the stamp set is “To You & Yours” with the Sizzix snowflake die cut.

Founders circle swaps 08 120
Stamped by Dania Welch.  I love the unique color on this one, too.  “Scandinavian Season”  is embossed in white on Basic Gray cs and mounted on Not Quite Navy with Kiwi ribbon and accents.

Founders circle swaps 08 124

Stamped by Cricket Thompson. “Snow Swirled”, Silver, Vellum and Baja Breeze cs.  What looks like DSP is actually the Baja Breeze cs that she stamped with the snowflake in Baja and white ink!

Founders circle swaps 08 125

Stamped by Christina Crawford.  “To You and Yours” stamp set and “Bella Toile”.  Wide Oval punch.  After she embossed images on Silver cs with silver powder, she masked off part of the card and brayered Hunter ink.

Founders circle swaps 08 111

Stamped by Mary Polcin.  I love the Perfect Plum cs color and how she used our Scallop edge punch.  Stamp set is “Best Wishes and More” and “Many Merry Messages”.

julie salva

Stamped by Julie Salva.  “A Flower For All Seasons” stamp set.  Old Olive, Riding Hood Red and Chocolate Chip cs. DSP is Holiday Harmony.

cynthia cantrell

jeanna cable

Stamped by jeanna Cable  “To You & Yours” stamp set. Sage Shadow, Cocoa, Chocolate cs.  Dsp is Windsor Knot. There is some glitter on the main house image, too.

pink no name

Stamped by ?  There is no name on the back of the card.  “Snow Swirled” stamp set.  The colors are WAY off here on the computer – in person, it only has a Pink Pirouette and Chocolate cardstock.

lisa freeman

Stamped by Lisa Freeman. “Snow Swirled” stamp set.  The main card is Always Artichoke, the band is Riding Hood Red and the Top Note Sizzix die is celery cs.  She traced some of the swirls with the 2-way glue pen and glittered with Dazzling Diamonds.

jan burnett

Stamped by Jan Burnett. “Seasonal Icons L3 hostess” stamp set.  I love the color combo here -The main card is white and the stamped layer is Sahara Sand.  (I forget to use that color!)  Holiday Happenings DSP, Baja Breeze ink and stamped again with white craft ink. Scallop edge punch and white taffeta ribbon.
