Hi Stampers! Here are more of my Holiday swaps from the Founder’s Trip! p.s. If you want to see what fun Matt and I had this weekend, visit his page on the blog!
(All images are copyright Stampin’ Up! All supplies are Stampin’ Up!)

I think this was my favorite of the swaps! Stamped by Giorgia Giguere, using the Top Note Die to frame their picture. It was printed in a sepia tone and mounted under the Chocolate Chip frame. Baja Breeze is the main card and a Baja Breeze die cut snowflake.

Stamped by Michele M. Smith from TX. Stamp sets “A Flower For all Seasons” and “Short and Sweet” . The base of the card is Kiwi Kiss. She used the Riding Hood Red Taffeta ribbon and cs for the circle. Markers to color in. I thought matching up that stamp with our designer paper “Holiday Treasures” was very smart!

Stamped by ? There wasn’t a name on the back! Adorable little card though. The base of the card is Certainly Celery cardstock and it is layered with Bashful Blue. The stamp set is “Merry and Bright”

Stamped by Debbie Moczek. The base of the card is Riding Hood Red. Then she folded a white card, trimmed down a bit and cut a circle out of the front of the card. There is some glitter and the taffeta ribbon tied through the circle and side of card. Stamp set is “Holy Triptych”

Stamped by Jen Jacobsen. “Deer Friends” L2 hostess set. This is one you almost have to have in your hand to see how it opens. The red layer is actually the card and is held shut with the slit punch. It is mounted on kraft cardstock.

Stamped by Natalie Travis. This is a great workshop card! “Bold Snowflakes” jumbo wheel is rolled with Bravo Burgundy (I think) on white cardstock. Then I think she swiped a Mellow Moss ink pad across it for the striae effect. The base of the card is Always Artichoke and layered with burgundy cardstock. The tag is punched out of Kraft cs. I love our new striped ribbon from the Holiday Mini Catalog called “Alpine”

Stamped by Beckie Kareck. The base of the card is Pacific Point (the darker blue) and then she cut the Top Note Die frame with the Baja Breeze, so the darker blue is recessed. Does that make sense? The tree is embossed white on Kiwi and cut out. For the snow on the bottom, it smells like shaving cream and some glitter!

Stamped by Stella MacKay. It’s nice to see some Glorious Green this year! And a creative use of the Top Note Sizzix die. “Season of Joy” stamp set.

Stamped by Cindy Fodor. The main card is Baja Breeze with snowflakes stamped in white craft ink. The snowman is stamped in Baja Breeze, layered with Riding Hood Red and Chocolate Chip. “Holiday Treasures” Designer paper, Riding Hood Red Taffeta ribbon. Stamp set is “Two Cool Dudes”

Stamped by Janet Wakeland. I’m a big fan of the Pacific Blue, but this card really showcases it! She used textured cardstock and used our new big circle punch on the front of the card. Not sure if you can see it, but the image in the circle is a metal edged tag. The layer on the front is Baja Breeze and has a piece of Kiwi striped ribbon under it. Stamp set is from the Holiday Mini Catalog, “Season of Simple Grace”

Stamped by Susy Miller. Stamp set: Christmas Classics”. Riding Hood Red and Baja Breeze. The texture on the card you see (ok, squint a little, it’s there) is possible Twill with versamark. Nice extra touch. Also the bell is stamped again in Baja Breeze on a scrap of white and punched out with our 1/2″ circle punch and popped up with a dimensional.

Stamped by Kimberly Van Diepen. I like how she created a card that looks like a package to give someone! Stamp Set is “Curly Label Punch Bundle” with the coordinating punch. (love that, no need to cut it out) “Holiday Treasures” designer paper and “Snow Swirled” versamarked in the background on Riding Hood Red cs. It’s hard to see here, but the label is glittered also.

Hi Stampers! I know it’s not quite the same to see these ideas online rather than see them in person BUT I hope by posting in a large size, you can see them a bit better!
All supplies and stamped images are copyright Stampin’ Up!

Stamped by Lynsay Mahon – Canada. She used our Big Shot to cut a leather leaf! Stamp set “Holiday and Wishes” and “see you aound” wheel. The colors are Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Old Olive and Bashful Blue.

Stamped by Colleen Magness. “A Cardinal Christmas” stamp set and “bold Snowflakes” wheel. The colors are Garden Green, Real Red and a strip of Creamy Caramel.

Stamped by Laurie Krauss. The base of the card is white cardstock, then a layer of Handsome Hunter and then Sage. One of the snowflakes is embossed white, which makes it really stand out and be special. Stamp set is “Snow Swirled”

Stamped by Dawn Raspas. Colors used are Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss. “Deer Friends” stamp set with cute bouncy eyes. Sizzix “top note” and “scallop envelope” dies.

I loved this 3×6 card and it has no name on the back! The stamp set is “Spotlight on Christmas” , stamped on Old Olive. Real Red for the scallop square punch. I think the holiday paper is from Stampin’ Up Simply Scrappin’ kit “I Wish”

Stamped by Linda Bauwin. “Punch Pals” and “Christ is Born” Stamp set. Colors are Riding Hood Red, white and black. The designer paper on the left is our Riding Hood Red Patterns series.

Stamped by Susan Adams. “Snow Swirled” stamp set with Baja Breeze cardstock and ink, Chocolate Chip ink and Designer paper, and versamark with white embossing powdered snowflakes. I like the 2 colors of Taffeta ribbon, too!

Stamped by Shari Caspers. Stamp set is “Holiday Lineup” . The colors are Creamy Caramel, Riding Hood Red and Always Artichoke.

This one is so snappy in person but my poor photography skills doesn’t show the details. It is stamped by Julie Piesciuk. She wheeled the “Santa’s Lineup” wheel in silver encore ink on the top and bottom of white cardstock. The reindeer is embossed silver on silver cardstock. and layered on Navy cardstock. Stamp set is “Winter post”.

Stamped by Jackie Ross. She gets big bonus points for using a stamp set not designated for holiday and using it in a new way! “Organic Outlines” used with Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss.

Stamped by Margaret Van Vliet. So pretty! The base of the card is Whisper White cardstock. She used the Top Note Sizzix Die on Pacific Point cardstock, so all of the design is mounted under the frame.

Stamped by Jacque Craig. Stamp set is “Snow Swirled” and the colors used are Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss on Vanilla cardstock. You can’t really see it here but the red snowflakes on the tree are punched out with our Trio Flower punch – clever! And glittered of course….

Stamped by Cindi kugell. “Moose You” stamp set and “heard from the Heart”. It looks like she masked around a square to create the frame around the moose. if you look closely, you can see white embossed snow under the moose, too!

Stamped by Phyllis Shepherd. I love this happy card! Stamp set is “Best yet” L1 Hostess set. The designer paper is “Holiday Treasures” layered on Baja Breeze. “Birds and Blooms” Sizzix die.

Hi Stampers! Coming home was wonderful although no pillow gifts at night or breakfast buffet when I woke up…will have to see what Matt can do about that hee hee.
I promised to post my swaps from the Founder’s Circle trip and I am finally done shooting, cropping and uploading. I just love all the cards I received from these talented stampers! The theme was Holiday Cards and most are Christmas although you’ll see a few Halloween and Thanksgiving. So you can see the detail on them, I have decided to post in large size rather than thumbnails. I’ll post them all in several posts over the next week and include the stamp set and colors. I hope they inspire you for your own stamping, workshops or classes!
All images copyright Stampin’ Up! All supplies for samples are Stampin’ Up!

This was stamped by Carol Payne. It was a favorite of mine and others also. I had to email her to ask her how she did it. It is perfectly glittered and hard to see in the picture. Here are her directions:
Stamp tree from “Snow Swirled” in Creamy Caramel.
Stamp snowflakes in Riding Hood Red
Clean stamp
Stamp tree in Versamark using Stamp-a-ma-jig
Sprinkle with Heat & Stick
Heatefrom underneath side of cardstock just till Heat & Stick melted
Sprinkle with Dazzling Diamonds
When cool, remove excess glitter with Swiffer cloth.

“Snow Swirled” Stamped by Deb Valder. I love the dimensional star she punched with Stampin’ Up small star punch. It takes 3 stars folded in half to get this look. I also love the So Saffron and Artichoke used together. There is also glitter on the flowers.

Another “Snow Swirled”! Stamped by Rene Watson. Windsor Knot Designer paper, Sage Shadow, So Saffron, Old Olive card stocks and inks. Love the horizontal slot punch for ribbon!

Stamped by Karen Trelfa. The greeting is embossed in Old Olive Craft (pigment) ink and clear powder, which is an extra nice touch. Old Olive, Riding Hood Red cs and striped ribbon. Stamp set is “Christmas Classics”. Designer paper is Holiday Treasures.

Stamped by Kim Allen. Old Olive cardstock, Chocolate Chip Patterns paper and “Deer Friends” stamp set.

Stamped by Debbie Naylor, Spotlighting Technique. Stamp set is “Holiday Lineup”, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Cocoa and Kiwi cardstocks. Who wouldn’t smile when they received this card?

Stamped by Susie Wood. “Batty For You” and “Big Deal Alphabet”. Basic Gray, Kiwi, Pumpkin and Black cardstocks/inks. Look closely to see the dry embossed dots across the top – remember that we had to do 135 of these? My goodness, that’s a lot of dots….

Stamped by Robin Spinner. “A Happy Heart” from the Holiday mini catalog. Basic Black, Riding Hood Red adn white inks/cardstocks. There is a little paper clip tucked behind the oval punch and she said that it would look soooo cute with a mini library clip also.

Stamped by Christy Harsch. The base of the card is Not Quite Navy and layered with Mellow Moss and Baha Breeze. Lots of punches – circles, Designer label and Key Tag. The front layer opens and closes with a half slit punch tab. Stamp set is “Holiday Trinkets”

Stamped by Kari Metzger. “Holiday Lineup”, Real Red cardstock and striped ribbon, Top Note Big Shot Sizzix Die. Happy, Happy…
Stamped by Kristina Koch. I think she randomly inked white glossy cardstock with Ballet blue and Bordering Blue and then embossed it with Irridescent Ice powder before using the Big Shot Snowflake die. I’m guessing as there isn’t a recipe – it is very textural and has the vellum wheeled greeting on the front.

Stamped by Barb Mullikin. Stamp set is “Spotlight on Christmas”, which coordinates with our 5 petal flower punch. Kiwi and Old Olive and Riding Hood Red cs and inks. The middles of the flowers are gold microbeads!
More tomorrow!

It is our last day here in St. George and I am looking forward to go home but hate to leave all this fun, too! Today I had zero plans made and slept in a bit and went down for my last breakfast buffet. (I’m gonna have to juice for a week to detox after all of non-stop grazing I have done!) Had a great time eating outside on the veranda (didn’t have my camera or I would have shown you the pretty view) and a bunch of us sat around the table and brainstormed a bit about our businesses. I have learned so much from hearing what other demos do!
Georgia asked Jan and I if we wanted to go somewhere fun with her. She said it was a surprise and to trust her so we did and what a fun time we had! Susan Adams, a demo who is here at Founders and lives 5 minutes from here, had a bunch of us over to her place to stamp and make these:

Georgia had made them the day before and already had the fabric. The other side is red fabrics and says Joyful so you can reverse it. See all the little scallops along the border? We used Susan’s Big Shot and the pennant die to cut out ALL of those pieces!

Here is Georgia on the left and Susan (the hostess) on the right. Susan’s husband built her this amazing stamp room where she can have her classes. It is a happy, creative place! Just a note – Susan and I hadn’t met before today and yet she said c’mon over!
This lovable face greeted us at the door – Her name is Journey. I just wanted to take her home with me!

Jan had a heck of a time with the sewing machine! She was a trooper and finished her banner but I chickened out and decided to sew mine at home. With my luck, I was afraid I’d break Susan’s machine and the pressure got to me!
Here are a few pics of the rest of the girls there. Click to enlarge…

After all that creativity being spent, we were hungry and shared some appetizers at Iggy’s. We didn’t want to eat much since we were told we they arranged a special dinner for our last night.
Stampin’ Up told us that we ALL needed to be in the lobby at 6 p.m. for a surprise event. The only details and instrutions we were given: wear closed-toed shoes, bring a jacket since we would be outside, and that our group picture would be taken.
We got on our buses and yes, we were on our little short bus! We drove about 20 minutes to a breathtaking place called The Inn at Entrada. (hope I got that right)
This is what we saw as we got off the bus:

Walking over a little bridge

And up the walkway I saw these table with luminaries

and then I heard squeals of delight as they found a gift on every chair,..

A scrumptiously soft chenille blanket!

and another thoughtful note.

There was a popcorn and candy stand and I KNEW we were going to watch a movie outside! If you look closely or click to enlarge, you can see the Designer Paper cones that the popcorn went in! There was a huge screen and we watched “No Reservations”, a sweet movie with Catherine Zeta Jones as a chef.

I realized that my 10 year anniversary with Stampin’ Up was during this Founder’s Trip! I told Shelli that and we laughed that it only took 10 years to get here but I never want to miss another one!
Thanks for reading along with me the last 4 days!

Last post of the day!
It’s about 9:30 pm and I was feeling like something sweet so I ran down to the Gathering Place to raid the Jelly Belly Jar!

Seriously, shouldn’t we all have cute candy jars like these at home?

I caught up with Debbie Naylor and Denise Jorgenson stamping in their jammies! (at least she kept her eyes open for the camera – why do I always manage to blink at exactly the same time as the shutter?!)

Wow! What a day!! I have so many pictures to show you so I think I will put them in mainly as thumbnails and you can click on them if you want to see them closer.
We had our trip to Kanab where we toured the Stampin’ Up manufacturing place. So much of it is not allowed to be photographed so I will only post what I am allowed. (wouldn’t want to give the competition any idea how efficient and industrious SU have become!)
We were all given a little swatch of 3 different designer papers. My swatch was Washington Apple so that was to be my bus. We were to be out the door by 8:00 am to depart for a 2 hour ride to Kanab. I went out to find my bus and saw 2 huge buses and a little short bus, which turned out to be the one I was on.

Can we just say how many jokes we heard about being on the short bus? We loved our small group and had a ball! Cory Hancock was the ‘mc’ and we had 2 hours of conversation about what we would like SU to start doing, stop doing or continue doing. That was interesting! There were more continue doing than stop doing, so that was a very good thing!

The new Kanab facility is really pretty – very clean with wide open spaces inside. There are 76 employees that work with precision to make our stamps. They all love to work there and that was really evident as we toured through. I asked one person if it was always this clean and she said yes, always! Shelli heard me and said that she is a “meanie” about keeping it clean, bright and nice! Can’t imagine her being a meanie about anything.
We watched the whole process of making stamps, from the artist’s drawing to the huge rolls of rubber, then to the cutter, the making of the molds, the oven, the die cutting process and the packing of the stamps in our boxes. I even worked on the assembly line, putting the stamps and blocks in the boxes! Just like Lucy in the chocolate factory!

The fabulous Julie Salva, showing off an antique cabinet filled with SU catalog samples. This was in the foyer area of the building.
Since Kanab is 2 hours from the home office, sometimes Shelli will stay there. My jaw was dropping as I walked through the living areas of this place! Other guests, out of towners or family and corporate members stay there also when needed. Look at how Shelli has decorated all of these rooms and guest bedrooms!

- Loved the chandelier over the sink in a guest bathroom!

After the tour, we got back onto our short bus and headed to a park for lunch. It was beautiful outside and SU had Subway come out to make us sandwiches.

This was our view from the pavilion where we ate.

This is the playground at the park that Sterling and Shelli founded, I believe. See all the rubber on the ground? Yup, all stamp set trimmings that they grind up and donate to parks and places that need extra cushy landings!

We were all like kids in a sandbox, taking pics while throwing it in the air and looking for images in the rubber that we recognize! I found one from a retired set with a paisley on it!

A great photo of this year’s Rising Stars, up on the top of the monkey bars!

The pics of me throwing the rubber in the air were not so flattering and probably beyond any of Matt’s photoshop magic so all you’ll get to see is my shoes and a close up of the purple and red rubber!!
So here is my favorite pic of the day:
She was taking a break and I caught her before the crowd realized she was stationary! After that, they told her that she was a ‘prop’ and couldn’t leave so everyone could get a pic with her. I told her this one came out so good it should be her next Stampin’ Success magazine picture!
We played Bingo on the way home and I won a spool of wide Saffron Ribbon and a pack of Washington Apple paper! I sat next to Ashley Van Camp on the way there and back. She is a Rising Star, which means she earned the cruise and Founder’s Circle her first year! She is a bundle of energy (and a competitive and exuberent Bingo player – thank goodness she won, too!) and it was so fun getting to know her.
Ok, you’ve made it with me this far so you must be wondering what the Pillow gift is today! When I got back to my room, I thought maybe we didn’t get anything. I mean really, they have done so much for us already and everyday here is amazing without any more gifts! I almost missed it, a little box and note:

See the glittered “L” chipboard?
And inside the box: (cyber drumroll)

A gorgeous neckace with my initial!!
Matt asked me to take some scenery shots for him so here are a few from today. Matt – Miss you like crazy and wish you were here to see it all with me! LU

What a relaxing day! After the make and takes (see last post) and lunch, everybody I knew went shopping at the outlet malls. Me? I went to my room, put on my jammies and “rented” a movie! I even got under the covers, ate more jelly beans (they keep filling those candy jars like we really need more) and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon!
Georgia called my room to invite me to dinner with a group and we all walked to Outback. I tell you, this altitude and the hills really kicked my you know what. I was having trouble talking and by the end of the hike, I sounded like I had sucked the helium out of 10 balloons!
After dinner, everyone (and by the way, the only ones here at this hotel are with Stampin’ Up) changed into their pjs and we went to the gathering place. Yes, even Shelli had her adorable pjs on. I didn’t get a pic because she was still trying to finish her swaps!
We lined up for our Holiday card swap and it took about 30 minutes to make it through 120 people! We did a line swap, so it was organized and I can’t wait to look through them all!
As we finished, this was waiting for us:

The pen and matching notebook were for our Business Share time. Demonstrators got up to the microphone and shared their favorite business tip in one – two minutes. Lots of great tips and we all submitted them prior to coming so SU gave us the printed versions, too!

Stampin’ Up had root beer floats! I haven’t had one of those in a long time and even the glasses were chilled!

ok, great pic of Mary Polcin but terrible one of me. I’ll blame it on my post root beer float sugar crash.
PILLOW GIFT!
I got back to my room and found this on my pillow! It matches the purse they gave us.

Off to bed now – have to get some rest for our Kanab tour tomorrow! We leave at 8 am and not sure how long the bus ride is to get there. It is going to be fun to tour the new Stampin’ Up manufacturing facility and see how they do all they do. I think we eat lunch there also.
I can’t believe we still have 2 more days!

Hi! I’m still getting adjusted to the time change. I think I woke up at 4:30 (6:30 my time”, saw the darkness outside the window and went back to sleep. Woke up an hour later, still dark and played a Scrabble game on my phone and fell back asleep. Finally got up and went to the breakfast buffet!
After breakfast, we headed to the Gathering place and they had added more chairs and these amazingly soft bean bags!

Jan helped me finish assembling my swaps for tonight! 135 done and ready to go! These are gift card holders using the Spotlight on Christmas set, silver cardstock and embossed in silver.

MAKE AND TAKES!!
Using our new stamp set “simple Friendship” (which will be coming out in the big Spring/Summer catalog in January) we made 3 projects:

all images copyright Stampin’ Up!
This is the front of the album we made. The butterfly was stamped twice with Bordering Blue ink on vanilla cardstock – once on the cover and once on a scrap piece and cut out the body.
This is the inside that folds out:

LOVED this little guy! It is a Tri-fold with a window, punched with our new big circle punch. Bordering Blue cardstock.
Here is the inside: (the designer paper is Pink Pirouette but I’m a stamper not a photographer so it is tough to tell!

How adorable is this?! It is a small cello bag with a piece of designer paper inside. Then 3 little notecards are inside for a gift. The top is punched with the Word Window punch (cello and all) and tied with our stitched chocolate ribbon!
Off to lunch!

Hi Stampers! I arrived in St. George, Utah after a long travel day from Orlando. After a few nights of less than 3 hours sleep, I managed to get here sleepy but excited all at the same time. Matt got me up at 4 am to be at the airport by 5:30 only to sit for over an hour (on a hot plane, crying and kicking children behind me) because they needed to change the tires. (funny, even I look at my tires before getting in the car – you’d think they might have noticed before we ALL got on!) Anyway, I tried to finish my card swaps (had to make 135 holiday cards for Founder’s) and gave up since I was still getting a kick from the seat behind me just when I was trying to put my brads in and I’d drop them, never to be seen again. So I landed in Las Vegas where Stampin’ Up picked me up for a 2 hour drive to St. George. There was only 2 of us who arrived that early, so Joey (one of the Rising Stars this year) and I had a great chat as we drove through the gorgeous scenery.
Once we arrived at this beautiful hotel, look what was on my door:

Isn’t that sweet? They always go the extra mile to make us feel special. There are 122 of us here and we all have one on our door.
My first stop was to visit the hospitality room, where I picked up my name tag and a Get To Know You game. I was given a bow stamp from a stamp set (which name escapes me – it’s in the Holiday mini and has word images in the shape of a stocking, ornament, etc….Ah yes, Deck the Halls) Anyway, I was to find the 4 other people who had the stamps that go in that set. Once we found each other, we went back up and they gave us that stamp set! (wrapped in our new wide striped Riding Hood Red holiday ribbon) So I now have Deck the Halls and have to find something fun to do with it!

(all images copyright Stampin’ Up!)
The Hospitality Room was So Shelli, in pinks and cream. The pillows on the sofa matched the lining in our purse, which is one of our designer papers. Below you see one of the 2 tables with candy in glass jars!

If you look closely, there are little silver pails with pink ribbon to fill with candy!

Stampin’ Up also gave everyone a yearbook, with all of our pictures in it. So the room was buzzing with “sign my yearbook!”

I’ll fast forward to dinner, since the hours in between were snoozing and a bath, both were wonderful. I met up with Jan Burnett and we headed in to the Welcome Dinner. Look at the beautiful table!

And at each place setting, a note from Shelli:

The dinner was wonderful and dessert, too!

And just when you thought dessert was the best and last thing, I went back to my room to find this hanging on my shower! (gee, now I wish I wouldn’t have left things a mess on the vanity if I would have know they’d be in my room!)

AND inside (it is AWESOME!)

Isn’t it fabulous?! I don’t know when it will be available – maybe in the next mini catalog or next catalog but wow! This is probably what we will be using for our make-n-take session.
Oh, and these were in the top part of the bag:

Linda
p.s. I forgot to tell you: After dinner there was a pow wow with this year’s Rising Stars (demonstrators who were the top achiever’s in their first year of being a demonstrator) . Anyone could join in and some of the past rising stars were there, too. It was so amazing and refreshing to me to hear how they achieved cruise and Founder’s Circle their first year. So many of them said they had no idea how they did it; they just had fun stamping with their friends! It just reinforces why I started this 10 years ago – to have fun sharing what I love…Stamping!
