Here is a LIVE action video from our last demonstrator get together! Deborah LaRue, a talented demo here in FL, created a new spin on the paper flowers everyone is making. She turned them more into mums or carnations. Take a peek:
Give her lots of cyber applause for having the nerve to get up in front of everyone, including my camera! Great job, Deb!

Here are a few more of my favorites from my February Demonstrator Get Together here in FL. Some were on the Show & Share Table and some were swaps that they traded that day. (Downline, only a selection are here – all of them are posted on the yahoo group)

Cute idea from Mary Taylor for a waterfall card. Pull the tab and the card flips to the left, revealing a buggy hello!

The next 3 were created by my talented friend, Connie Hobbs. She used the Garden From the Heart set (occasions mini catalog) and the Thoroughly Modern designer paper, which is one of my favs! The white daisies that look stamped comes that way, already printed on the designer paper. She used the colors in the paper which are Bermuda Bay, Rose Red and Soft Suede.

Hi Everyone!
As promised here is the 2nd demonstration from our meeting at the end of January.
Paula Rotmil demonstrated a few techniques she saw at the Stampin’ Up Phoenix Leadership and Regionals event. She was brave to get up in front of everyone and my camera so give her some cyber applause!
The Shimmer Paints are still available to order even though they were in the Holiday Mini Catalog! All of them are 5.95 each.

My favorite, Champagne Mist, is the one that is a translucent glitzy gold shimmer that can be mixed with the alcohol spray. Item # 116806
Platinum is very opaque and I use it to stamp with or to dye ribbons platinum silver! Dries fast, too.
Frost white is right in the middle, a little translucent but more like white shimmer nail polish. Just adds a pearly touch and is great to add your dye based reinkers to.
Email, call or text me if you want to order some!

Golly, time sure does fly! I was supposed to post these videos the first week of February…well, at least it is still February!
We had our monthly demonstrator get together here in FL and I asked a few of the girls who went to the Leadership conference and Regionals in January to share a technique or inspiration they learned there.
This first video is Toni Ballesteros, showing the paper flower originally shown on stage byJan McClurg.
Toni created a great vintage-y easel card – check it out our “LIVE” meeting video!

Created by Toni Ballesteros
For those of you who can’t watch the video, I’ll show a few pics so you get the general idea! Jan McClurg demonstrated on stage and I snapped a few pics (click to enlarge):

She used the Stampin’ Up eyelet border punch and then ran it thru the crimper several times. She punched a circle, 1-3/8 or 1-3/4 (can’t remember) and covered it with Sticky Strip tape. Then she scrunched and pleated and ran the paper on the sticky circle til it stopped in the middle.
Tune back in tomorrow to see Paula showing a few ways to use her shimmer paints!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! Matt and I are in Hilton Head, SC today with a group of friends. We go away each year to catch up with each other and watch the game. I’m not a huge football fan but I watch the commercials and make snack runs during the game. I bring the computer so I can organize photos, work on my taxes and today, show you some of my favorite swaps from January!
The first 10 are from the group of stampers I swap with and mail to Montana each month. I’ve been swapping with them for quite a while but sadly, this is my last month. Matt and I are starting a Stamping School blog and with the extra workload, I have to let some things go. (sniff) I’ll miss the joy of getting their cards in the mail every month. One of my demonstrators here in town is taking my place so I can at least still see their artwork and maybe take some pics to still share with you….

stamped by Rhea Hughes
I love the color combo that Rhea stamped here. The Sweet Pea paper from the Occasions mini has so many different papers and this is one of my favorites.

stamped by Carol Gilmore
I tried to lighten this one up but it still doesn’t look as white as it should. Carol glittered all the hearts and love that pink satin ribbon from the Occasions mini catalog!

stamped by Jan Cramer
‘Our house, in the middle of the street’… great song. I love the paper pierced square and the large oval punch together. The tiny heart paper is from the free 6×6 paper pack in the Sale-A-Bration mini catalog.

created by Mary Ammar
I really like the lattice die being used as a tone-on-tone background.

stamped by Denice Marshall
See the embossed background? Using the embossing folders adds just a little bit extra!

created by Kimberly Allen
Kimberly used the red satin ribbon for a pretty, tailored bow. The Sending Love paper already has the glitter on it and I think she cut the flower out from the paper.

stamped by Mary Hall. I love so many things about this card, especially how she used the scallop corner punch as an accent. It’s a tricky punch so if you are having trouble going all the way around your paper, this is a GREAT way to still use it!

stamped by Rhea Hughes
This is the Sending Love paper again, which has the glitter already on it. I like the little pearl – adds to the sweetness!

stamped by Sharon Skelton
Sharon did a bunch of sponging on this pretty card! I’m guessing but I think she embossed the images in white on white paper first then rubbed the ink into the paper with sponges. Beautiful!

stamped by Susan Gudmunson
Susan glittered the main greeting where the candle greeting is and I liked how she scalloped just the top and the bottom of the pink layer.
The rest of the samples are either swaps from our demonstrator meeting last week or art from the Share and Show table where we bring things to display:

Stamped by Ouida Gordon
Ouida punched lots of hearts with the Heart to Heart punch!

stamped by Ouida Gordon

stamped by Deborah LaRue
This card is really neat in person – I think she used the scallop circle punch for the flower petals and it looks like she sprayed water on it and scrunched it to make it more pliable. The ink on the tips of the flower almost bleed in, so it was probably inked with an aquapainter after the paper was made into the flower.
Here is a close up:

close up of flower - isn't it pretty?

Love, Love, Love! Sweet Pea DSP and teal – great combo!
Need to start my BBQ for the big game so gotta go but I hope you have fun whatever you are doing today! Linda

(if viewing from your email, you may need to come to the blog to view videos)

At the beginning of January, I told you about Stampin’ Up’s new option to mount rubber stamps. They are not getting rid of the wood blocks but offering another option for those that prefer the space saving solution of clear blocks. We are not selling clear stamps but rather a clever way to mount the rubber temporarily to a clear block and then remove to store in a slim, DVD type cases. SU will be offering the new clear mounts and well as wood mounted for all new stamps coming out.
So after having a workshop recently and lugging all 9 clear blocks along so my customers could decide which size works the best for the stamp set they are considering, I realized I do not want to bring them all with me each time!
All the sizes for the blocks are listed on page 6 of the Occasions Mini Catalog. I grabbed some clear Window Sheets (or you can use transparencies I guess, as long as they are sturdy) and cut all 9 sizes and wrote the letter with a Sharpie then put them on a key ring. This way I can take them to events or have them at my classes and customers can just hold them over images in the catalog to help purchase the right size!
See a quick video:
And in case you missed it, here is a quick video for how to put our new rubber stamps on the clear blocks:

This is a little treat cup card created by Shari Lackey from Independence, MO. The card to the left pulls out to drop the candy!
Speaking of treat cups, did you know we have HEART treat cups available while supplies last?? We now take a moment from our regularly scheduled program for this commercial break:

12 plastic treat cups for 2.95! What a deal!

And since having the treat cups is not enought, Stampin’ Up brought in the new Sweetheart stamp set, which fits the heart treat cups perfectly!
$21.95 for rubber and wood block mount
$15.95 Clear Mount (rubber stamps for your own clear blocks)

And of course since they love to add to our sales totals, Coordinating Heart Punch, which fits the stamp set and cuts out the hearts perfectly for the heart treat cups. Remember it’s SAB time, which means that if you spend $50 you get to choose free goodies! See here for details. Ok, back to our regularly scheduled blog post….

This is a folding desk calendar stamped by Emily Turner. The saying on the bottom is just perfect for a butterfly:
” The butterfly counts not months or days but moments, and has time enough”
Happy Stampin’ ! Linda

Wowza! That’s the word I used to describe the card swaps I received in the Wow Swap I participated in at the Stampin’ Up Leadership convention. I’ll post a few each day so you can see the detail up close. The first one is my favorite and created by Toni Ballesteros (happy to say my good friend) from Deland, FL

Stamped by Toni Ballesteros
Isn’t he spectacular? I say it’s a he since it seems with his feather that he is showing off a bit this Valentine’s day, looking for his love bird. Toni used our new Bird punch and VersaMarked the scallop edge, bird and branch first before sprinkling with Heat and Stick powder. Then she used the heat gun to melt the powder, which left the card stock sticky to hold all that red and chocolate glitter! Wowza! That red satin ribbon really finishes it off.

This neat card was stamped by Alanna Wharf. I love all the detail and Alanna, you musta spent hours filling all the thermometers with those tiny beads! Really a great card.

Stamped by Alanna Wharf

This is what you see when the card is opened!

And just a little close up to show you how she punched on the fold line so it created 2 hearts draped over the linen thread line.
More tomorrow! C”mon back! Linda
